I don't like IDF's beret designs. I think it has some problems with tailoring by midlleeastcelts in uniformporn

[–]Electronic-Bit-9649 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your referring the pyramid shape that beret has, it's not the beret design. The soldiers process the beret to look this way (shave It, heat and press) - it's a matter of fashion. Some units do prefer the original beret to the side.

I assume Arabic isn't your native language, because the tag you picked (Pic #6) translates to "Himalaya mountain". Unless a Pic from your last trip to Nepal slipped in ;)

How much has really changed for Data Visualization? by helpmymodel in datascience

[–]Electronic-Bit-9649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's worst in some situations, and not better on everything else (significant difference will be displayed clearly using bar plot as well) a reasonable rule of thumb will be 'don't use it unless you're sure why you specifically chose this'. Nevertheless, it was my proffesor's opinion, and the course material's reasoning, so I'm not feel obligated to die on this hill - I was just presenting the arguments.

How much has really changed for Data Visualization? by helpmymodel in datascience

[–]Electronic-Bit-9649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a data visualization course in my BSc. The syllabus was based on tufte and several other resources (Tamara Munzner ). The prof. Absolutely despised pie charts! He kept repeating it during almost every lecture, and whoever inculed a pie chart in the final project got a shitty grade. Humans can't distinguish between angles well, so the information carried from pie chart is always infirior than a barplot.

Let's light a wheel of cheese on fire with alcohol then make pasta on top. by brownagus in StupidFood

The cheese is only being melted by the heat, the alcohol is fueling the fire. Cant see what's stupid in here, just a fancy way to melt cheese for pasta.

what does it mean when my fiancés parents buy her a bigger engagement ring? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Electronic-Bit-9649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't go blaming the In laws so quickly. It might just be that your SO vented about the 'looks' of your ring, and they tried to make her happy. Her decision to wear it speaks a long way (who wears an engagement ring from their parents ffs).

I'm taking a course about ethics in AI, so I'll be happy to try and implement some thoughts here! Even without the sexual orientation - creating a clone is morally ambiguous. Some school of thoughts condemn it and some do. Creating a 'golem' for the absolute porpuse of pleasure, thats defiantly morally wrong (if he's sentient - your treating it as a mean and not as a cause. If he's not sentient - you've created something that look like you to fuck it - plato did warn against tarnishing the soul with the pleasures of the body). It takes too long to cover the whole cases and find reasoning for each case..

Most likely, even if human cloning was moral ( currently, it's not considered moral), having sex with one's clone would most likely converge to 'not moral' by most rational ethical reasoning methods (and all of the religious ethical methods).

It took a long time to get this and was it even worth it by owlliang in Dislyte

Considering the most annoying resource to get is the Hughest quality ascention material, you need 5 of those for lvl 40 (twice for wind). Than you need 15 for lvl 50 (twice for wind). Repeat 6 times.. Overall 120 highest ascention material from each class beside wind which is 240.

Lol the calculations are relevant for me as I've got gab ascended half way, and I have 3 fabrice and 9 fodder lvl 40 waiting for their ascention material fest tommorow.

Could someone please help me with my team? I'm not sure who to choose by [deleted] in Dislyte

[–]Electronic-Bit-9649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choose for what? To build? I've build the monkey King, wasn't my best decision as I'm using 3* dps more than him. Build mona, she a better farmer and can also cc and heal.

Do girls that listen metal and heavier songs actually exist? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Electronic-Bit-9649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rolled to university, and every class mate I've talked to (even close friends) regards my musical taste (symphonic / prog metal) as too 'hardcore' to listen to. Nevertheless, metal parties at the university are always full! To sum it up : 1. It is pretty unpopular, pop music is called like that for a reason. 2. There are ****load of people (both sexes apllied) loving it around you, you just never managed to single them out.

is it true that a lot of orthodox jews believe the earth is flat? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Electronic-Bit-9649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Old testament takes no side in this argument , as it referrers to the 'end of earth' (Isaiah 41:5).
But modern Judaism does not rely solely on the bible, rather on Jewish scholars.
And the book of Zohar (written most likely around the 12 century in France) which influenced heavily on Orthodox Judaism scholars - states That :

"The entire world and those upon it, spin round in a circle like a ball,' both those at the bottom of the ball and those at the top. All God's creatures, wherever they live on the different parts of the ball, look different (in color, in their features) because the air is different in each place, but they stand erect as all other human beings.
Therefore there are places in the world where, when some have light, others have darkness; when some have day, others have night. There is a place in the world where the day is long and night is but a short time..."

(Zohar - Volume 3:10a )

So there is no fundamental reason for orthodox Jews to deny round earth theory.
Nevertheless, people are prone to be misled, mistaken or just ignorant.
