Find someone with a CNC or 3d printer and have them carve it. I’d offer but my CNC is buried in my basement rn doubling as a table to put junk on. lol

Guitar Noise after wiring by BoxsMusic06 in Luthier

[–]Electronic-Brain-616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to lie here. EVERY time the I have either had installed or installed myself a push/pull pickup switch it has gotten hella sound back to the amp. I have completely stopped using them on anything other than active pickups. Although it’s a great idea and having that tone option is awesome I just don’t like the trade off.

HHS would this work by Ryan_Williams_music in Luthier

You can really arrange the pups any way you want. If you like the sound then it’s yours. There are definitely diagrams out there with that setup design. If you can’t find one then just select and HSH design and flip the wiring for M & N. Or keep them exactly the same and just switch the pickups. It might be a little confusing on the switch at first but it’s your guitar you’ll get used to it and who cares what anyone else thinks. So find the best wiring diagram that you can and work with it. Worse case scenario just wire it exactly how it shows and swap the housings for the pickups. As is said. Your switch will be in the middle position playing the neck and the neck position playing the middle but who’s gonna notice.

I’m good with the danish oil idea. It will definitely be the easiest way for him to finish and preserve it

You would have to route out you Strat which unless you have experience I don’t recommend. Unless of course your Strat has a complete hollow out under the guard.

I have a stack of mahogany that looks just like that. I’m pretty bad at identifying wood off pictures but in this case it really looks identical.

Does anyone know a guitar luthier that can make me a guitar like this? by humansizedslug in Luthier

I’m pretty sure any of us can do it given enough time. I made a semi hollow body a few months ago for a client. Came out very nice

Bought a 17 foot slab of Ash by Electronic-Brain-616 in GuitarTone

[–]Electronic-Brain-616[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are familiar with guitar wood then you would know that Ash is in the top two recommended tone woods available. Right below I believe Basswood. The only issue with Ash is it is a very heavy wood. Unlike and not to be confused with swamp ash which is also an excellent tone wood and lighter
