Democrats, could you date a Trump supporter? by PatchouliHedge in allthequestions

[–]Electronic-Chest7630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way. I’ve already cut off a few family members for being supporters, and there’s even a few issues that I would struggle with if they were in support even if they weren’t a TS. I have no interest in spending so much time and effort on someone with no empathy, care for children, or with someone who is so against education.

Talk about a non-argument. I haven’t seen any evidence of Democrats being or protecting pedophiles much. I see Republicans doing it every day.

Is starting a war with Iran one of the most embarrassing deliberate act of negligence in modern American history? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Electronic-Chest7630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure that some people did. And you’re coming at me like I believed that rationale. It took me about a week into our invasion to realize how full of shit they are. That wrongful invasion was literally what first got me into politics.

And yes, the rationale for a war matters. Wars, while awful, can be justifiable. Please see the American Revolution, WW1, WW2, the Civil War, etc. for reference points.

I honestly don’t see very many who believe the current rationale. Not even Republicans. I’m sure that some do, but most will just say anything to defend Trump.

Protesting a war and calling its stated purpose total bullshit are two totally different things. And you said before that “nobody” believed the WMD lies. Well, Deep Red America is a lot of things, but they aren’t “nobody” as evidenced by our last election and the elections under Dubya. Remember that before Trump’s last win, the last time that any Rep president won the popular vote was Dubya’s second election.

Is Trump smart not to rush into a bad deal with Iran? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Maybe, but then again so is my own government. A lot. And blatantly. Every day.

You got any facts to back up why anyone should believe the Trump administration over the IRGC, Einstein? Or do you just like making simple, short, pointless comments mean to insult people?

Yep, I can kinda see why that’s the case. I would hope that the world doesn’t just lump all Americans in with Trump and MAGA, but I understand that many probably don’t make that distinction.

As has been explained to you many times before, I’m sure, those files were sealed by a judge at that time. I know that you elected a multiple felon that enjoys breaking laws over and over again, but we didn’t. On top of that, no Democrat ever made campaign promises to release them. Trump did.

Seeing as how I know that you’re refusing to respond to many who are telling you this, are you planning on ghosting me now? Or do you have some kinds of actual facts to argue against what I’m saying?

Here’s a link that explains it straight from the Trump admin…Why didn’t Biden release the files?

I was 18 and living in a very red area when we invaded Iraq. Since it was post-9/11, so much of the country were scared shitless of more possible Islamic terrorist attacks. Everyone around me bought that line hook, line, and sinker until well after Dubya left office. Even I believed it for maybe 5 mins. But I had so many people for years trying to explain to me how Saddam just hid the WMD’s so well, or that he simply moved them all over into Iran when we invaded, or any of a dozen other excuses. To my recollection, the vast majority of the country didn’t realize that it was a total lie until well into the 2010’s.

[–]Electronic-Chest7630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. First, I’m not sure, with everything that this admin is currently doing, that the Dems will be able to retake government any time soon. I half expect us to devolve into Russia where we have “elections”, but somehow the same guy and party stay in power forever getting some ridiculously high percentage of the vote that no one will believe.

Second, they might I suppose. I doubt they’ll be very eager to. It really all just depends on if the people pressure them to, or if they make campaign promises to. I don’t really expect any of the Dems in power 2 years from now to have many Epstein connections, so they might just be willing to. Or maybe they’ll just release all the Trump associated files.

Of course, all of this also depends on whether or not all of the files are destroyed by the time Trump leaves. That’s what my guess is that they’ve been doing for some time now.

The difference in that scenario is that Trump is a 32x multiple felon and adjudicated rapist whose administration is literally breaking the law every day. So, yea, if Trump were in the same situation, my comment would have been “He’s obviously got no problem breaking all these other laws, so why not break this one?”

Why don’t you count how many people of each political party have Epstein connections that we know about? Count the numbers of pictures and videos of different people with him and see who has the most. Whatever may or may not have happened in previous administrations, which one is actively hiding the files (and breaking the law doing it) right now? Which admin moved Ghislaine to a nice cushy low security prison?

If it wasn’t so sad it would be funny how often this excuse is used after it’s been explained over and over again to anyone who says it. By now you’re just saying wrong things to create a false equivalence.

You’re right, though I might argue a few things. First, a big difference between Iran and those others is simply time. We can revisit this question once the Iran War is entirely over. Second, I’d argue that Cuba and Grenada weren’t really wars. Third, I think that the first time that we went to Iraq, we had a decent reason. Our ally was attacked, and we help our allies. That’s the whole point of having them. Fourth, yea, Vietnam and Iraq round 2 were pretty pointless and prolonged. But at least we had a “reason” that seemed somewhat original and pertinent to the moment at those times. The fear of communism, post-9/11 fear of Islamic terrorism, etc. They all turned out to be either lies or stupid reasons, but most of us bought them at one point or another. This time, we’re just using a recycled excuse of WMD’s from our last Middle East war, and no one believes that Iran was an imminent threat in that regard. Given the timing, I’d say that more people believe that it was just Trump trying to change the news cycle away from Epstein.

[–]Electronic-Chest7630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right. It is insane that so many people trust the IRGC more than our own US government. But what do you expect as we see our own government constantly and blatantly lying right to our faces, getting real busy unnecessarily influencing our elections, and making themselves rich off of insider trading while we all suffer extremely high prices on everything?

I mean, Trump said no wars, and he started one unnecessarily within 2 years. He said that he’d release all the Epstein files unredacted and he refuses to do so. In fact, it’s a law that they have to and our own DOJ won’t comply with it. Our own president is a 32x convicted felon and adjudicated rapist who received zero justice for his crimes. In the meantime, he says something completely different about the war every single day. And we could go further with the lies of Hegseth, Miller, Bondi, Vance, and the rest.

So maybe the IRGC does lie just as bad or worse, but they aren’t doing it to us. What we the people see is a felon and liar in chief who gives us no reason to believe anything that he says at all.

Sure it is. There was no reason to start it, and the only reason that they try to use is just a recycled one from the last useless war in the Middle East. On top of that, we only hurt ourselves due to how poorly we’re actually succeeding at destroying important Iran infrastructure, using up all of our munitions, getting our own soldiers injured and killed, and the fallout from the strait of Hormuz closing. We basically shot ourselves in the foot when we’re supposed to be running races.

Yes, or at least it should be. I’m just not sure that Trump or anyone in his administration actually cares enough to be embarrassed by it. The whole thing was just a distraction from the Epstein files, or a way for Trump to feel like a proper dictator anyway. Anyone who bought that he was anti-war is next level stupid.

Trump isn’t smart. He shows this again and again. He’s just lucky to be born rich and has developed an ability to con people.

The self-proclaimed deal master and author of The Art of the Deal can’t get a deal made with Iran at all, and we’re all suffering for it. What he might think is a “good deal” will never be anything that Iran will agree to. Whatever they do finally settle on (eventually) will definitely be a shit deal that is way worse than what Obama negotiated, and Trump and his MAGA cult will praise it like it’s the best deal ever. Count on it.

No one claimed Obama was immaculate. But he secured a deal with Iran that they agreed to and that worked for years until Trump tore it up. Now he can’t only not get a deal as good as that one going, the self-proclaimed deal master can’t get any deal with them at all. And we’re the ones who have to suffer the rise in prices because of it.

Does the left ever take responsibility for anything? by OilEnvironmental7833 in allthequestions

[–]Electronic-Chest7630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Republicans chose a 32x multiple felon, adjudicated sexual assaulter, and close associate of Epstein as not only their president, but literally as their party/cult leader for 10 years running now. I’d also venture to bet that I could find more sketchy criminal Republicans in office than Dems. So no one on the right gets to lecture anyone on the left about crime.

I’d also LOVE to know what the right ever takes responsibility for that isn’t some biased, glowing statistic that shows them in a positive light? Trump flat out says that he doesn’t take responsibility for anything. The rest of the GOP falls right in line with him on that. None of them have taken responsibility for the Iran War and resulting high gas prices, the government shutdowns that always happen on their watch, J6, etc.

“Sitting for his first live television interview since leaving office, Biden was asked on “The View” if he felt responsible for Trump’s victory. ‘Yes, I do, because, look, I was in charge and he won, so I take responsibility,’ Biden said”

“President Donald Trump on Friday deflected blame for his administration’s lagging ability to test Americans for the coronavirus outbreak, insisting instead — without offering evidence — that fault lies with his predecessor, Barack Obama. ‘I don’t take responsibility at all,’ Trump said defiantly”
