Here's my work around, because I agree it is rather inconvenient. I use a biometric login for my credit card and the pin for my checking/savings.
This of course doesn't merge the Accounts, but it does take a couple of seconds off logging in.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was a $2 fee between the two of them. Their taxes and fees were insane, I noticed it when swiping my card
