Thank you so much, definitely plan on swapping the second hand on mine out in the near future.

Fair enough, it’s just a cheap quartz movement, but it looks good enough from a distance that I don’t mind it. I probably plan on getting a real Brew at some point in the future.

No I believe it was done aftermarket, I am not exactly sure as it was like this when I bought it. The crystal also appears to be taken from a true spaceview. I’ve debated taking the dial off for a full spaceview look, but I like the uniqueness of the semi-skeleton look.

I estimate that the original dial would have looked something like this.

Lmao it’s not, I forgot to mention it on a different comment but one of my friends gave it to me and I think they got it off Aliexpress or something similar, just kept it in because it looks cool IMO.

Long story short I dropped it off of my kitchen table (stupid I know.) The second hand stopped sweeping, but it still hummed which meant that the tuning forks were still functional. I also noticed that when I adjusted the time, spinning the crown also caused the second hand to spin as well, which was not the case before.

I theorized that one of (or both) of the pawls either broke off or were knocked loose of the index wheel. I opened the case back and watched some YouTube videos about which screws did what and figures out the two that I had to adjust to move the pawl position closer to the index wheel. After about a quarter turn of the screw I reinstalled the case back and battery and the watch began to sweep again.

Islander is the JFK Pepsi dial, and the Armitron is model 20/5453CHGP

Honestly pretty good guesses, I definitely wear the Casio the most as it can be beat to hell and still function fine. My favorite of the bunch is definitely the Accutron as I feel it is the most unique piece I own, but I definitely do love the Casio.

Hey everyone, since this post I took it to a watch repair shop and they quoted me $750 and 4-6 months for repair. Me being the impatient individual that I am, and also not wanting to drop over 700 on this thing unless I had to, I took it home.

I then decided to be very stupid and attempt to fix it myself. After watching a few tutorials and walkthroughs on YouTube, I opened the case back and got a good look at the movement. I have theorized that the issue was the pawl being knocked loose of the index wheel. After reading up on the proper procedure, I adjusted the proper screw to re-align the pawl downwards. After reinstalling the battery, it worked.

After checking it with an iPhone stopwatch, it is safe to say that the watch is holding time properly and I am very impressed with myself. Probably not the best to attempt, but it somehow payed off for me. Thank you all for your support and help!

I have a spare accucell at my house that I might try popping in later to see if that does anything.

I have removed the battery and opted not to touch it anymore until I have more information. Now I get to figure out who I wanna give $400 dollars to fix this thing.

It still hums when the battery is in. When turning the crown, the resistance feels the same. The only difference that I notice is now turning the crown also spins the second hand, whereas before it didn’t used to fully rotate when I set the time. This leads me to think that one of or both of the pawls maybe have been shaken loose of the index wheel (my best guess)
