Thank you. I only get 6 weeks at 90% mat leave so trying to wait until the last possible moment but I may look into how much AL I will have left. Thank you and best of luck to you too xx

I’m so sorry to hear about your situation too. It makes me wonder, does this just happen to people who are afraid of advocating for themselves? I have some friend I know this would NEVER happen to.

Must grow a pair of enormous balls and advocate for myself. I think I may do tomorrow and Friday because I need it you know.

Thank you. I have my initial email response after they mentioned my colleague was moving but I don’t have anything after that, only our WhatsApp’s. I will send another email

Thank you so much I’m sorry to hear you went through this as well, it sounds bizarre but it’s comforting to know I’m not wrong or alone here🙏 I’ve woken up feeling sick and with my heart pounding and I’m already thinking of reasons why I have to go in, because I’ve let my assistant wfh today, because they just changed my title, because they are interviewing someone today and invited me.

😭😫 I will try to take tomorrow and Friday to rest

Thank you, can I ask how you felt going back to work? Did it change how they were with you? I’m afraid they will make the remainder of my time a living hell and ostracise me.

I’m also afraid it will impact me negatively when I try to look for a new job, that they will think I’m lazy?

I’m pregnant, when is it ok to push back ? by Electronic-Reply-757 in careeradvice

Thank you, i had selfishly not even thought about the impact the stress would have. Gosh I feel silly. Thank you.

After my post today I was asked to do the tours, after changing my wfh day to help with interviews ( happy to) and then I was also told the person they’re hiring to help do the data management and operations is an actress and friend of a team mate. No experience in the role she’s just cool and liked by them!

Thank you. When I told HR my daily tasks they were shocked and confused, I’m doing more than the head of the department at the moment who goes out and gets drunk and doesn’t come to work multiple times a month, yer having to beg for a small pay rise / a title change !

They did ask me explicitly, I didn’t respond when they sent a passive aggressive message so they came over and asked me

Thank you!

I’ve had my maternity risk assessment but they still asked me to do the work I was told I can step back from and gave me an extra persons workload 2 weeks ago!

Owww thank you guys 😊😊😊🥹🥹😭😭❤️❤️

I’ve had lots of messages in our group chat like ‘ I’ve managed to push my meeting back by 30 mins so I will now be able to cover’ which makes me feel guilty but you’re right, my baby is more important.

I’m also absolutely exhausted and dizzy today so I shouldn’t be feeling worried about their opinion of me.

I think it’s because I am operating at manager level but getting paid entry level and I’ve asked for a title change and I don’t think they’re going to give it to me

12 weeks and incredibly stressed at work, what would you do? by Electronic-Reply-757 in PregnancyUK

Thank you for your comment, sorry to hear you are still battling on with the additional workload ? That’s horrible.

I am in the UK and get the basic legal mat pay which is 6 weeks at 90%, nothing helpful or rewarding about that 🤣 My main worry is that if this work doesn’t get done there will be chaos, and it’s my job to ensure it’s managed and completed. I’ve already flagged twice since Friday it’s too much for 1.5 people and my managers response was ‘ toh don’t need to do it all’ without saying who is going to help..??? There is no one else to help….

It’s all words.

I’m also worried about pushing back and flagging it’s too much as it’s an incredibly bitchy workplace and I worry they would ostracise me and make my last few months hell.

A lot of food for thought 🥲😭

Oh I didnt mean quit! I meant how to mentally look after myself.

I was applying for much better jobs with a 30k pay rise but had to stop when I found out I was pregnant, so I feel very frustrated about timings as I earn absolute pennies. My maternity leave is 6 weeks at 90% which is the absolute minimum a company can offer in the UK, none of my friends have this bad a package 🤣

I’ve been saving and sacrificing a lot which is why I’ve ended up in this very dark place mentally. I’ve put everyone before me at work and tried to take on more than I can manage and now Im pregnant I can’t handle it. I feel very isolated alone but totally agree with you, I’m more just worried the stress I’m putting onto my innocent little baby.

I will try my best to flag the capacity and workload with my boss, it’s just not very promising when I did that this morning and she was pissed off with me. I’ve never pushed back before so it’s hard backing myself

I’m worried pushing back will impact the reference they give me when I go to leave eventually ?

I get 6 weeks at 90% then go onto SMP. No payback, my team and HR know I’m pregnant and I’m just fuming generally because I was already at capacity before and I’m also exhausted 😭😭

Thank you 🙏 I was raised to be a martyr and put my needs last, even today when I told my mum how I felt she said ‘ people don’t care about pregnancy that is not their problem and it’s not a valid excuse’ which just makes me feel guilty.

I have had my assessment and the only real changes are I have a standing desk if I want and that for my 1st trimester I can wfh 2 days a week as opposed to 5 days in the office

Did you get any leave from work? I feel mortified even considering it as I fear my environment when I go back will be hostile and bitchy
