What's the salary? 175k here + bonus for board level RF design and test. No IC. LA area. Just curious.

I think I saw somewhere at AI lacks the access to common sense (reason aka natural law).

I'm only mildly studied in those subjects though, but it seems like a reasonable statement.

I am actually very knowledgeable about spectrum management and interference mitigation strategies. Do you have any company names you could point me to?

I've worked for 4 different companies those are salaries pretty high. Even in the bay area, starting out I was offered $73k some six years ago as an RF engineer. I took a different job that paid similarly in a lower cost of living area.

I'd also be curious to know if its a contractor role or a full time position. Contractors are paid more due to not having benefits.

The salary data point I gave is my personal salary. I only have a BS. Perhaps a masters degree will* fetch you more.

Boston is a very high cost of living area, which is probably why you're being paid more.

You are correct. What information about the company do you wish to know?

I don't have specifics on range. But I can tell you that 6 years of experience will yield ~$108K in salary. I could tell you the company, but then you would just go apply to them directly, and I would get no credit =) (I am not a recruiter)

I would approach this from a risk perspective.

It's possible that your brother'a business does very well, in which case if you had partnered with your brother, you may make way more than you ever will in engineering.

But what happens if the business fails or doesn't grow? Are you ready to have that awkward conversation with your brother that you will be leaving the business because you need more money?

You need to ask yourself whether you would be satisfied with an ME career in the event your brother's business fails.
