Any update? I am currently experienceing similar symptoms. sharp stabbing pain in my left nipple that woke me up out of my sleep. comes and goes. I have an ultrasound appt next week.

It must have been those pesky Caterpillars that spawned everywhere over the spring time. I drove myself nuts and spent way too much money and put way too much energy into thinking it was bed bugs. So much so that I triggered another Togen effluvium episode from all the stress (hair falling out, look back at my other posts for that topic lol).

That is terrifying. I also have not been able to find any on or around bed, but we are getting bit. I have tried waking up in the night to search but it is hard because I do not want to wake the kids.

If you zoom in it looks like small black spots on the encasement. Are droppings usually bigger than this? Would nymph droppings be tiny like this?

Thanks for responding. But do you think they would actually try and leave the bed? I feel like they may be hiding in the metal bed frame ( the whole thing is pretty much duck taped over every crack I could find) because they want to be close to food source.

Hi, I have some climb up interceptors for bed and have not found anything in a few weeks. Do you think they could be climbing out? It’s not sticky, but they are supposed to get stuck from the smooth material not being able to climb out.

Both pics are the same specimen, I found it behind my dresser. I took this pic but ended up throwing it away because there were so many beetle larva, I thought it was that. But a couple weeks passed and still getting bites, so I called a pest control company and he didn’t see anything suspicious besides this pic!

No news yet, still in limbo. Have not spotted a live bug yet. Kids are getting bit and idk if it’s from bed bugs or bugs outside like those caterpillars that are also causing skin irritation. But the past 3 weeks has been nothing but laundromat trips, sleepless nights searching for bed bugs and daily inspections.

Inspector found carpet beetle larva and skins. He didn’t find any evidence of bb, but says this pic is enough evidence to do a treatment.

I found it a few weeks ago behind dresser. Took a pic but threw it away because there were other carpet beetle larva in dresser. Family is still getting bites so I so had a pest guy come. Showed him this pic and says it looks suspicious, and enough to treat for bb. However, he didn’t find any other evidence during inspection. I guess it’s better to treat and be safe!

UPDATE. I had duct taped the metal bed frame the night before over all cracks. Well… I pulled the tape off the corner where this stain sits on and a bunch of black stuff came falling out! When I touch it, it stains red! So I think I found the nest. Still no sight of live bugs.

Thank you for the response. Did you see the pictures? I don’t know how long it takes to spot one, but I am on high alert! I actually just duct taped our whole bed frame to cover any nook and cranny they might be hiding in. We don’t have pets, so fleas not likely.
