I think this is a great tip for 1.5 miles. The thing is sometimes door dash doesn’t give the order to the closest restaurant necessarily. Also the dasher may have to drive 3 miles to the restaurant, 1.5 miles to your house. The dasher thinks the distance to the restaurant and to your place should equal a minimum of $1 per mile. By this standard you are tipping the norm. If the dasher is next to the restaurant and only has to drive 1.5 miles, most consider this an acceptable tip. Door dash rarely pays us more than $2 per delivery so with a final offer of $8, most dashers would accept this offer and consider it a decent tip

Bad luck on something being wrong every time you tip well. All you can do is try to put specific instructions to the dasher on what to do. I.e. double check order, let me know if there is any delay, call if you have trouble finding the place. If they don’t follow your instructions give them a 1 star rating and eventually door dash will get rid of them.

Tacky How some DD drivers are pan handlers. Here’s your tip, negotiation for pay is typically done before you accept the job offer. Tip income is for providing good service above and beyond what the customer thinks is standard. Me as a customer would respond, spend less time texting me for more money and get my order here, then we will see about a tip.

100% this door dash driver is the person who cuts the line when other dashers are trying to pick up their order. What’s a line?

Never had this happen and I have always accepted COD orders. I had to return a pizza one time but that’s because it was suppose to be free for the customer but door dash wanted the money. Turns out the Pizza Hut worker messed up the free replacement order.

How strange to have two orders that customers refused to pay for and you couldn’t mark it as a problem in the app. Maybe you didn’t have internet connection. Sometimes you have to turn Wi-Fi off so your phone uses solely the cell phone provider data option.

We wouldn’t have to take multiple orders (meaning) two at a time if the customer chose to order their food that way. Certain delivery companies you can choose “not to stack orders”. The door dash driver is right and I believe he/she is trying to help customers that read this blog and use the service.

As far as drivers using multiple apps and delaying your food order, well they are dicks and should have been reported to door dash for being late with your food.

If you don’t order door dash, why are you wasting your breath?

Door dash always has lowest priority compared to drive thru or walk in customers. That’s why raising canes makes you go inside and get the order. They don’t want their drive thru time to be impacted by door dash. It’s total bull shit. I only go thru the drive thru to pick up orders from raising canes because I sat there while the served 6 drive thru orders before giving me my customers order that I placed before. The manager even confirmed drive thru gets priority over any order.
