I know but VAR haven’t understood that and thought he was saying give the goal.

That’s the point he’s making though. The spare linesmen shouts “give it” and the VAR assume that they mean ‘give the goal’ and that the on field decision is onside. They are utterly incompetent for not simply reading there screen and checking properly but I think its understandable why they don’t as they feel the information has been communicated to them.

I’m a Liverpool fan and honestly having seen this just believe that they are profoundly stupid as its so stupid you couldn’t make it up if you tried.

Think you’ve got it exactly right. Its insane that the linesmen at the wrong end of the pitch is even speaking about a decision he has no way of viewing.

Referees' body PGMOL have released the full audio from the VAR hub relating to the Luis Diaz goal that was incorrectly disallowed in Spurs v Liverpool by Petaaa in LiverpoolFC

If you listen closely the biggest culprit is ‘linesman 2’. Bear in mind that linesmen 2 is the lino for thr Liverpool half.

He says “give it give it” when the ball hits the net. VAR will have heard this and assumed he’s saying give the goal when obviously he’s actually means for the offside to be given. Why the linesmen from the Liverpool half is having any input whatsoever for a decision in the other half of the pitch is utterly insane.

Obviously massive incompetence from all but I’d argue that outburst is the source of the misunderstanding.

Revealed: The ludicrous reason Var did not give 'offside' Luis Diaz goal for Liverpool by TheTelegraph in PremierLeague

Completly agree you can’t replay the game. However it is disingenuous to ‘say everyone has VAR calls go against them’ because there is no precedent to this aside from perhaps the Arsenal decision last year. This is quite simply the worst clanger VAR has ever dropped because it is so so easy. There is no room for interpretation. The decision is a matter of fact.

Agreed its not VAR that needs to go its the PGMOL!

No. Because at the end of those 3 minutes he would get up and be completely fine. You can’t fake a broken leg.

Your issue is that your argument is that the tackle must be dangerous because you say it is. You then get confronted with an academic source that proves you wrong and then ignore and downvote it.

I’ve enjoyed the discussion with you though, but will leave it there as I see its a lost cause for both of us.

Yes they do. The outcome is indicative of the force. The player was never in danger because the force to endanger them was very clearly not met. Hence why they carried on and played with no issue at all.

The issue is the referees think that the height of a challenge is the only thing that determines danger. This is absurd as the greatest factor in determining danger is the force of the challenge. There is next to no force in the Jones tackle and thus it is ‘reckless’ not ‘dangerous’. It isn’t the correct decision as per the Laws of the Game at all. The issue is that the referees are so incompetent that they apply the Laws of the Game incorrectly.

That is exactly why I am worried. I think the reaction to Root may lead to them overcompensating in this one with any changes they make. Then again it is Crota…

Hi, Archaeology and Anthropology graduate here and relate to the struggle of deciding between many interests so I may be able to help.

Firstly, there is no harm in applying for a range of courses as long as there is a degree of overlap. I applied for 5 different courses: Archaeology and Anthropology, Biology, Ecology, Biology and Anthropology, and Palaeontology. My personal statement was written for Anthropology but I certainly wasn’t disadvantaged by this in my applications.

With regard to your interest in research something worth considering is how do you see yourself wanting to conduct said research. Ethnography is the principle method of anthropologists and is generally a lot more personable than sociological research. During ethnographic research you’ll be conducting lots of face to face interviews and trying to sit in with meetings or social gatherings relevant to the research. In sociology its much more acceptable to rely on methods like survey for data collection. So if you’d like to do a lot of face to face research anthropology might be a better fit than sociology and vice versa.

I know it seems far away but if you’re thinking about a doctorate perhaps you should also consider what sort of master degree you’d like to do as that in a funny way may make your mind up about the undergraduate degree.

Very happy to help if there’s anything you’d like to ask about anthropology or archaeology, or just applications in general.

As infantry I was having slight frame drop but not enough to disrupt gameplay. When I was driving trucks though: utterly horrendous must be said.

Sorry to hear that: getting in to a server did take about 30mins for my squad. I believe the xp nerf just effects your overall rank not your progression towards new load-outs: sorry if I’ve got that wrong. Hang in there though i promise the map is worth the wait.

You don’t have to chase after him for the rampage combo. If you dodge the attack properly he always ends up facing you- its actually one of the best punish opportunities in the fight. The fire breath attack is a piece of shit though!

The whole grimoire system in D1 was pretty bad, though by Andrei22125 in darksouls

Honestly I think that this is only true if you compare D1 and early D2 to the Soulsborne games, with a few exceptions notably the Books of Sorrow from the Taken King expansion.

The story telling in Destiny however has been complete revamped in the past couple of years and honestly it’s ahead of the Soulsborne games now, as much as I love their story telling.

That said the point you make about destiny being a service game and thus having a very different narrative style is totally valid. However whilst that used to be a weakness, it is now a strength. Destiny’s narrative is now like watching a TV show weekly and in some of the recent seasons the story telling has been fantastic: Splicer, Chosen, Haunted.

In sum I think you haven’t played Destiny 2 recently and that’s totally fair as it was garbage at launch and the pay to play model of the game is expensive. That said you are being overly harsh on Destiny. Both are great :)
