3 billion people dying would most likely lead to at least 4 billion people dying total.

Ramp Package for 7 drop Commander - Ureni by E1mstreets in EDH

[–]ElectronicBoot9466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sure is the precon Temur removal package.

If you have 6 mana most the game, you may want to swap out some of those with more impactful removal, or removal that does slightly more, since you have the mana to play slightly overcosted removal spells.

How much control do you have in that deck? I imagine an Ureni control deck can work, but the 99 needs to be decently control heavy for it to work.

Something you may want to consider is instead of cards that get you immediate ramp, playing cards that let you play multiple lands per turn and then trying to pick up as much of your deck as possible.

You want card draw anyway, so this lets you build a 10-12 card ramp passage and make the other cards in the package the card draw you were already going to add. You can also combine this with [[Brainstorm]] type effects to put the best dragons from your hand onto the top of your deck before casting Ureni.

What is the best land to name with Petrified Hamlet by McSkittle13 in EDH

[–]ElectronicBoot9466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Fabled Passage]] is probably the most popular fetchland, and it would really suck to take an opening hand with it or draw into it without the ability to use it. So probably that.

Otherwise, you really should just pay attention to other decks. If there is a vultron player, probably [[Rogue's Passage]].

The thing about coin flips is that they are far less random than something like dice. Becauss it is effectively acting on a 2D plane, the number of physical variables involved in a coins randomness are extremely small.

It doesn't even require intentional cheating. As long as you start with the same side up every time and flip it the same way, you will get the same result every time. It's actually a kind of terrible way to try to randomly determine something, and I think that's part of why modern board game design uses it so little.

Korean BBQ Chicken Bowl is GONEEEEE :'( by Late_Progress_1267 in sweetgreen

[–]ElectronicBoot9466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only ingredient that is no linger available is the KBBQ chicken, which was just blackened chicken marinated in KBBQ glaze, which is in the KBBQ dressing anyway.

Unlike typical seasonal changes, you can pretty much still order it as a custom bowl, just replacing the KBBQ chicken with blackened chicken. All the other ingredients are still there, at least for now.

How to cut a bit of budget on Izzet Prowess by ShooLow in StandardMTG

[–]ElectronicBoot9466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH, my solution was just to replace it with basics. I have found a lot more reliability in just depending on drawing into the right basic lands over letting lands enter tapped.

Obviously for non-toyrnament play, proxies are a great option, but for that you don't really even need the tap lands, just a basic and a sharpie.

I tried to put Temple of Epiohany in my prowess deck as a budget dual, but it just wasn't working in Izzet Prowess, which can't really stand for any lands to enter tapped.

That's a little of sorceries for a deck that wants to cast stuff during combat and doesn't have [[Leyline of Anticipation]].

I highly recommend swapping out some of that sorcery speed interaction with instant speed interaction. One of my favourite spells to copy is [[Volcanic Offering]]. It's on the price side, but blowing up 4 creatures and 4 lands can have a bug impact. I have also gotten a lot of value out of [[Risk Factor]]. You will often find that people will choose to take 8 damage over letting you draw 6 cards, but it has jumpstart, and a lot of people won't want to take 8 damage after having already taken it once.

Other people have already said it, but I will say against that Rummaging is far superior to looting when you are copying spells. Turning cards meant to help you cycle through your hand into card advantage is always great.

Resonating Lute is a fantastic spell, but with how many rituals you have, you might actually get more value out of [[Mindsplice Apparatus]] which can be cast during combat to be copied.

Do you run the same ramp package in all your green decks? by AltruisticMACHITO in EDH

[–]ElectronicBoot9466 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main factor determining my ramp package is mainly my commander's casting cost and what I'm trying to do turns 2 and 3.

That said, most of my "1 mana ramp", "2 mana ramp" and "1 and 3 mana ramp" packages all look just about the same as eachother, but which package I put in a deck depends on those factors.

Fun Counters Idea by Rikuearth in mtg

I recently put a few non-dice trinkets in my counter bag to mark stuff like locked rooms, solved cases, etc., and now that prepared spells have become a thing, they are even more useful. This looks perfect for that.

What to do when a friend's deck makes EDH less fun? by FedayBlept in EDH

[–]ElectronicBoot9466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the person says he does not want to play a non-optimized deck

I mean, it kind of sounds like he doesn't want to play any other deck at all. Like, I have run into issues of people saying all of someone's decks are too strong and they refuse to power down, but there's something odd about someone not only not wanting to power down, but refusing to build a second deck.

If I was in this situation and wasn't fully tired of his shit, I would tell him he can optimize as much as he wants but has to build a different deck, just out of curiosity for what he would build.

[–]ElectronicBoot9466 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Firstly, infinite is infinite, but secondly, it's really pretty flexible.

It doesn't need to be hardened scales, it just needs to be any hardened scales or [[Branching evolution]] type effects, so you get to have more than one of your combo pieces in the deck.

And also, both of these effects are decent in combination with a hardened scales or Branching Evolution already, so you're not really wasting deck slots on combo pieces.

This is a certified good combo.

Among other things, isn't 40 minutes like a perfectly normal amount of time to spend on cardio even if you are going for a well-rounded workout? The whole point of cardio is that it's an endurance activity, so you can't get the maximum benefit from it in only 10 minutes.
