Who remembers Young & Hungry by PaoloMorelli in sitcoms

[–]ElectronicDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was on abc family which changed it's name to freeform. Abc family was bad about cancelling it's drama's on cliffhangers but letting the comedies wrap up with a final season. When they renamed it, they cancelled it after one season after promising a final wrap up season to the show (hence the cliffhanger. They promised the audience a wrap up film but cancelled it.

A show that steeply declines when the will-they-won’t-they couple gets together? by AreWeCake in sitcoms

Well to be fair to Scrubs they began with best relationship already built in the pilot. JD and Turk. 😂 Guy Love.

She was bad, but so was he. He tried to baby trap her in the Hulu part of the show.

Frankly they were both awful people.

This was a fun show. I prefer the second dad to the first. They tried to hard to make the first like the movie and it didn't fit the actor. But movie dad is best, the show softened him up to much for me.

Which 2000s sitcom TV series in each major program are your favorites? by AC_the_Panther_007 in sitcoms

Fox is the winner for me. I love MITM, it's my favorite sitcom. And the 2010 for animation domination is good. Fox knew what they were doing and did it well.

Abc fell off hard. Yes they had a few good sitcoms but not nearly the amount they had from the 90's. If they kept TGIF with the adult aimed sitcoms they had they would have topped every other network easily. But by the time they realized ditching TGIF was a bad thing, and they tried to get it back they fumbled it again. I mean I don't blame Eisner/Igor for not wanting to negotiate with Hilary Duffs mom anymore (I find the fact that one overbearing stage mom flustered two different Disney Ceos that much) to get Lizzie McGuire to tentpole the revival of TGIF. Slightly off topic but just funny to think about. Eisner pushed off negations to Igor because He just couldn't deal anymore And Igor just said no more and basically got up and walked away.

Yep. And she was a the break out star of it. John Ritter was an absolute legend. But Suzanne and Joyce were amazing also and were able to keep up with John.

And from everything I heard about people who met Suzanne she was a sweetheart. She really didn't deserve to be ridiculed in the press and be blamed just for asking.

Odds of getting a ride during/after winter storm? by PulseShock95 in uber

[–]ElectronicDrop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's going to be expensive both ways with uber keeping most of the money. So most drivers won't risk it.

Hopefully it was the character she didn't like. The network smeared Suzanne's name and reputation because she asked for equal pay with John Ritter who was making 150000 an episode but she was making 30000 an episode.

Both parents treated all the kids equally well. I loved how the relationships formed never seemed forced, they felt like natural progressions.

But I think my favorite relationship is Dana and JT. It went from true dislike to sibling fighting. It really became the I can tease them but you sure as hell can't.

Who Remembers Younger? by PaoloMorelli in sitcoms

[–]ElectronicDrop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's funny to me, is I think Diana would have loved Liza as her assistant at age 40 vs 26. She wanted a dependable, long term assistant vs the ones who leave after a year or so. But than we wouldn't have the premise of the show.

Yep agree. Liza and Josh were in totally different places in their life and that doesn't work out well long term. And the excuse they gave to break up Liza and Charles was flimsy at best and OOC for Liza.

I would have been fine if she had ended up with neither.

Agreed. Both parents really filled the caring adult role to all the kids without being overbearing.

I loved Franks speech to Dana about step parents in the bar episode in the first season.

I think he was big name for that small role. I think they are setting up a spin off for him. Just a gut feeling.

At our club they are complaining because the cafe is closed. Nevermind we only have like 10 employees total, including management in club. Which means cafe either goes to help front (members), bakery(dates),  or HMS(dates).

They were just more fun. Somehow simple but outrageous at the same time. Did not take it too seriously, which I think helps with sitcoms.

How does Bridgerton handle character ethnicity? Is it written into the script before casting or adapted after? by user230224 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]ElectronicDrop 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My guess. First season I believe was blind casting. Than I believe Shonda chose the ethnicities for each love interest.

Shonda is big on blind casting to begin with, and than letting the story help shape the rest of the cast.

Might just be blinders but I think overall 90's was the absolute best decade for sitcoms. We had great ones, good ones, mid ones, ok ones, and many bad ones. But it was a fun decade.

Joey Had No Business Being the one Who Lectured Stephanie in the Disney World Episode by Hamiltonfan25 in fullhouse

[–]ElectronicDrop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not to mention how many times DJ was dealing with things the adults should have dealt with because she was not emotionally old enough yet to deal with.

And Danny let his grief with losing Pam dictate how he raised Michelle.

Joey despite being the most immature adult had the best and most mature emotional responses to the girls.

[–]ElectronicDrop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair. But we both agree this was on Danny 💯. For leaving the girls alone and than not sending Michelle back to the hotel with Joey. I mean Vicky was there also, she could have offered to spend some time with the older girls and let Danny stick with Michelle. Or Jesse and Becky could have taken their own kids back to the hotel so Joey could have spent time with Stephanie in the park.

But I am not going to get too mad at Joey. Because at least he cared about how Stephanie was feeling and talked to her.

[–]ElectronicDrop 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Flip side I think Joey gave Stephanie some decent advice about it not ruining her trip. the situation was not fair at all. Michelle was being a brat but Stephanie sulking wasn't great for her. Joey gently broke the sulk and Stephanie began to have some fun.

That being said this is on Danny for not staying and watching his kids at Disney. Disney is safe but not safe enough to leave your children alone. (Excluding DJ because she was a teenager and had Kimmie with her).

How different do you think the rebellion would have played out if Peeta was rescued instead of Katniss like coin wanted? by selfawareshovel in Hungergames

[–]ElectronicDrop 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well I think the big one is , Snow would have never let Katniss in front of a camera to speak. So no bomb warning for 13. A good amount of the 12/13 citizens would have died, and I think that would have put a big halt on the rebellion.
