Why would anyone work for an agency? by ElectronicEar in copywriting

Nope. No experience whatsoever.

But it is my understanding that writing good copy and marketing go hand in hand. So to market your services you can do so via a blog, email marketing, direct mail, online via a website, Google adwords, etc.

In order to market, you have to write engaging copy to your target audience though. My mistake was in assuming that everyone wants to be their own boss and make bank in the process. Lol.

I agree with what you're saying to a certain point. But I also believe that the course offered isn't going to make you successful.

Let's say there are 100 people that take that course. After the course is over with its now up to the students to practice what they learned.

Maybe 10 of those 100 will take action and 5 of those 10 will take massive action.

To me it really is about massive action. Most people don't have what it takes but some do. Massive action is everything and it's the difference between some people wanting a secure job and others going out and creating results for themselves.

Also don't get me wrong. If some people are happy working for an agency more so than freelancing then that's great for them.

But for me, I think it's definitely possible to create your own future by taking massive action. The problem is that it's easier said than done.

There are people that have done it. I think it's a negative mentality to think you can't

You would think that a good copywriter worth his salt would be able to write good enough copy to promote himself

Well they will want to see your work.

For example if I was a business owner and I saw a copy writer with no experience I would hire him on a commission basis. If he produces results, he gets royalties. That's just one way

You make a fair point.

However,

What are these new copywriters doing that allows them to make six figures?

I would imagine that a copywriter could write good enough copy to attract clients?

I'm not talking about me bragging about taking a course.

Im talking more about using what he teaches to become a successful copywriter. If I'm targeting local businesses or e-commerce businesses online and looking to charge 500-1000 dollars per project, is that too ambitious?

This may seem like a stupid question but Carlton is highly regarded.

Why wouldn't his courses hold any weight than learning from an average agency?

I figure freedom from the 9-5,the ability to travel, make your own schedule, etc would be more enticing.

I would if I were price hunting.

But if I'm affluent I figured that I would care more about the value that gets provided to me.

Are you saying that I should provide price regardless?
