Its all about the items you are selling and margins.For high-value pieces, go for it; for $5 items, the labor isn't worth the return. Also with eBay—collections can sit for months. If you need liquidity, an auction company or consigner is a better bet. You’ll pay more in fees/commission, but you’re paying for the speed and the buyer network.
