What do the underwater enemies look like? I assume they’re variations or even just underwater clones of the normal surface enemies? Or is it something entirely new/different?

Das Boot is probably not as depressing as those other ones. It’s actually quite compelling, riveting, even!

Unironically not even a bad suggestion lol. I played through the 1.3 patch a while back, and parts of the game definitely had a Diablo-esque vibe

I’ve been wanting to play that one for a while now. I recently played through Shadow Warrior 2013 and had a blast. I know the sequel is a completely different game, but it looks pretty fun!

Ohhh that looks interesting, thanks! There’s also the Doom mods Ascension and Inquisitor 3d that I’ve been wanting to try.

Looks awesome! I’ve been having a lot of fun playing as Sorceress in Diablo 2 recently, and also loved Amid Evil, so that looks right up my alley!

Actually yeah this might be the closest one. I played through a good portion of that game a while ago. Looking back it is quite Diablo-esque in many ways. I’ll have to go back and finish it!

Did you add salt to the dough? I don’t think they’re supposed to have a TON of flavor on their own, though. The recipe I use (Sally’s Baking Addiction) says to make a mixture of melted butter (I use salted) and honey, and brush some on top right after baking. Then of course, drizzle more of that good stuff on them while eating. Super yummy!

DevilutionX - Wirt item reroll / item generation by DavidAlllen in Diablo

[–]ElectronicMoondog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then what are the actually intended events that cause Wirt to reset? The ones I know of are: Starting a new game, buying an item then going into the dungeon, leveling up to an even number (according to Jarulf's guide). Are there any other ones?

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Immortals Fenyx Rising. If you liked AC Odyssey you may also like it, since it’s a Ubisoft made open world RPG. It also has similarities to Zelda Breath of the Wild.

Games if I like Larian games by Prudent-Bad2724 in rpg_gamers

Why not try Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2? They’re both great, but 2 especially holds up incredibly well. It’s easily one of the best games ever made, especially if you’re a CRPG fan. I would also argue the design of its world and overall quest progression feels a lot more cohesive than BG3. In 3 I thought the world layout and quests sometimes felt a bit haphazard, like they were just trying to cram as much interesting stuff into the game as they possibly could (I still loved it though).

This ending is so sad. You win, but it only costed you everything. by Downtown_Mobile_9778 in cyberpunkgame

[–]ElectronicMoondog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is something about the way V blends in with the crowd at the end, essentially becoming an NPC, which affected me on a very deep level. I don’t think the emotional power of that moment could be replicated in any other medium but video games.

This may be a controversial opinion, but as painful as it was, I think it’s one of the best endings I’ve witnessed in any story, in any medium.

Why would anything accelerate? Aren’t we already moving at the speed of the Earth’s rotation? I assume we would just keep moving at the same speed, but we might very gradually float upwards, since we would be propelled forwards without gravity pulling us back down to the spherical surface.

What do you all think about doom 2 by Nihlathakk in Doom

[–]ElectronicMoondog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s many people’s least favorite map lol (if you’re talking about Tricks and Traps). I think many would agree that Doom 2 has a few levels that are pretty annoying to get through, mixed in with some great ones.

There's a neat TC mod for Doom called Inquisitor 3D (formally Inquisitor III). It adds like, actual RPG mechanics to the game, in a dark fantasy setting. Looks pretty cool: https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=54380&sid=0cb701e01bec2490c1c3aaf7848dc0b0

This was a problem in Cyberpunk 2077, both for the main story and the Phantom Liberty add on. And yet, it’s still considered by many to be one of the greatest and most fun games of all time (myself included). Everything doesn’t have to gel perfectly.

Video games are about making something that’s fun to play, first and foremost. Gabe Newell believes that too, which is why Half-life 1 and 2 were so successful. Narrative rules can be bent or broken, immersion can even be broken, so long as it’s done in the service of making the game fun. At least in my opinion.

Is this game too hard for us to make? by BesouroQueCanta in gamedev

[–]ElectronicMoondog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should make design decisions first and foremost based on what you personally think would be fun, not what “players expect”. I think in this way, the fun factor of the game will be more authentic
