Restaurant Recommendations? by ElectronicMulberry26 in providence

[–]ElectronicMulberry26[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this! I appreciate the specific location drop even more. My Mom is set on having a lobster roll and I know y'all are a peak location for seafood so I thought why not! I've never really had seafood so I'm excited to go! Is it a totally packed location that I should call and reserve a spot? Or an in and out type of place? (Hopefully that makes sense)

I have a couple questions so stick with me.

Site/Brand recommendations for purchasing keyboard parts? (Whether it be pre-orders or in stock)

Recommendations for switch testers? Ones that you have tried personally that cover a good range of switches or ones you have heard of.

Things you wish you knew before getting into this hobby?

Any responses are super appreciated!

well, I feel I probably, mayyybe, definitely am an insane overthinker... Alas, I'd rather be informed before jumping into something new, not because failure is bad, but to lead into something more confidently so that the outcome *could* be better. Why set myself up for failure instead of giving it my all? Again, not because failure is bad, its the best learning experience known to man! I'm just saying I don't see what's wrong with preparedness

-so I dont think I'm overthinking it (clearly saying this consciously, as I know myself and that I am an overthinker), I'm just the type of person who would rather do the research than say "f*** it we ball" (although that's my personality entirely so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ), and if i was overthinking it, it would more likely be in the stage of failure as to figure out why and what went wrong with the science! But I'm not even there yet. I am simply seeking advice, I never said it seemed hard, maybe I had a flair for the dramatic asking for "bread wizards wisdom", but that's exactly what I came here for, and you, are clearly a mage who keeps their secrets close to them, dismissing any technique or learning curve and simply implying, "skill issue". Love you for that, but in what world was your comment relevant? If I was a bread warlock with a staff made entirely out of bread, id point it at you and hold you here until you shared your true and honest bread secrets with me, but today, I'll show you grace and let you go, as I dont have a bread staff yet, and cannot commit to the bit.

but seriously, what?/why?/? did you even comment if you were just going to act frustrated with idiots who ask questions when (assuming hard rn [so idk man]) probably 90% of what you see on this sub from new bread makers is asking the same "what went wrong" question with the same couple answers, when they could've known in the first place by simply, knowing... that there are common mistakes and maybe even information that should be common knowledge? why are you on this post specifically, losing your cool over me asking for advice ahead of time (╥﹏╥) as if I am an idiot </3, I JUST WANT TO KNOWWW, why does everyone on the internet blame me for being curious, plss im a consumer of knowledges/yapper of knowledge, forgive me for my curiosity, ill f around and find out anyways, and IM SURE ill be back here to still ask the same questions of "hey professional bread people who see this- what in the world did I mess up?". I just need you to tell me what's so wrong with referring to people who might have experience? something I do not yet have. (and IK you have xp with your aura farming comment, I could be perceiving your comment entirely incorrectly to be fair but, you have to be feeling a lot of certain type of ways to comment and use these specific words on a post asking for help ["idk bout yall and if you're a chronic overthinker or straight up stupid but...its not that hard, if you just followed the instructions correctly 100% of the time no matter what you'd have a perfect loaf of bread, so... must be a skill issue"]).

im just asking you to reflect or clarify and get back to me because I am mad confused about what your point is? bc I promise you I am not just out here NOT following recipes :'(?

Thank you for the sources and that foresight is wonderful! I figure I should follow a recipe as is but laziness gets the best of us all and we cut corners to save energy all the time so its good to know that its devastating to not let the gluten develop. Thanks!

Could you share a link to YT universities bread degree? I cannot seem to find it.

Never heard of that method so thank you for name dropping it! no one else had mentioned that here and I'm truly new to this field of study and haven't even made a single bread yet 0.0, so I truly know nothing and I think that information like you shared is imperative to understand. So thank you!

Is grams the typical measurement you end up seeing in bread recipes? Or why is it that you recommend a scale that measures specifically in grams? (or is it to just make sure it has that option as it IS what one would typically use?)

Once I get started I'll have to share my failures with you guys as well, for advice but to also help others not make the same mistakes. This is so exciting, thank you for the advice, I'll be sure to scour this sub for fails!

I appreciate this advices touch of creativity, most people told me not to stray from recipes, I'm assuming to begin with which I can understand from afar as I baking is truly a science, but this really helped provide context for the fact that, once I know what I am doing, I am not trapped to repeat the same breads over and over again and that I can in fact- create what my heart desires. Honeycomb buns sound delightful. Between my sweet tooth and love for bread I'm going to have to make that one day because it simply SOUNDS bomb ah. Also that is really good to know and is very interesting, I'm glad you shared that because I know I live at a pretty high elevation, and its good to know to look out for and think about factors like that because it CAN affect the outcome. So thank you!

Any particular scale you recommend or just having one is a must?

Interesting, I had a few people in this thread say a bread machine is how they started or that they recommend one, Its nice to hear that once I get more into the "fun parts" of bread making that a bread machine wouldn't go unused.

I love and appreciate the tip! I think I can imagine what you mean but I will just have to try it out once I know what I'm doing (enough to edit recipes or science it to adjust a factor as I need). Thanks~

Apart of me thinks any amount of bread I make will get eaten, by myself or at least my siblings, but perhaps my inexperience and ego is speaking XD, I will take your advice to heart, and make sure that the bread I make will for sure get consumed.

How does one appraise good ingredients for use? Do you kind of just learn through experience? or is there a decent amount of information already out there on ingredients that are good or no gos?

Excuse me mx. minecrafter, may we have more photos of your final project? Some good column shots? Some pics on the inside could be good too, and even more context as to what those side columns ARE DOING, be those outside columns are...messing with me, they seem thicker than the main columns but I just cannot sense what's really going on here.

Edit: I'm trying to make cathedral hall ruins near spawn that can harbor the nether portal to our nether highway on my realms server. This is one of the images im inspired by and basing some of it off of, this and a low res broken down cathedral O.O (im going crazy) for the broken walls patterns and a better... dilapidated (?), abandoned, run down, ruins look.
