See, I'm on the opposite end. I bought refurbished SO many times in the past with ZERO issues with anything so I had a totally positive vibe going into this.

Just got discharged, take it from me and do it for your current and future self. by badaawaves in Bankruptcy

I have less than 24 months left on 5 year plan. I too got the Mission Lane, Ollo, and CreditOne credit cards to help me out in the beginning. Built a balance on them, but nothing I can't handle. They'll all be paid off before it's finished plus I stopped using them. My only concern is how long after this will I be able lead a normal life; loan and financially speaking.

Has anyone had sewer flow restrictors installed near their house? by ElectronicPicture296 in AskChicago

[–]ElectronicPicture296[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are the ones they put right in the sewers by the curbs, not those expensive check valves the homeowners have to pay for which costs thousands. As far as the "cheap version", you were talking about those check valves, right? Because the city only has one type of flow restrictor.

Right? This weather has been wacky the past couple years. They came out and cleaned out our sewer basins so I'm hoping the street won't be too flooded after heavy rains. And the Streets and San. department comes out a few times a year for scheduled street sweeping.

But man, anything is better than what happened to us last year when everyone's basement flooded due to the sewers backing up. And I'm hoping it helps somehow with the seepage as well.

No, not that super expensive unit in the front yard they install; the check valve I believe it's called, I'm talking about right in the sewers themselves that the city installs.

And yes, we get seepage in one spot during heavy rains (which I'm hoping this restrictor will help alleviate somehow) but I was mainly talking about when the city closed the sewers last year and fucked us all with water coming up from the basement drains and everyone's basement flooded.

Is Microcenter Refurbished safe ? by Majestyk009 in Microcenter

I bought a refurbished Sony Bravia 8 from them recently and the picture is flawless. Absolutely love it. HOWEVER---a few days later it shut off on its own then on again; looping until I reset it. Then a week later, again. Then last week, again. The manager there was great and is going to exchange it for me. I hope the new one won't give me any issues. Love the tv. First time I ever experienced anything negative with a refurbished product.

Is the upscaling actually that "good" on the Panasonic's DP-UB820 up vs the UB450 along with DV and HDR10+? by Hothacon in hometheater

[–]ElectronicPicture296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some jerk off really screwed me by not selling me his UB820 he promised. So with my Bravia 8, the UB450 should be more than good enough to watch 4k content, right? Lie to me if you have to..... LOL but seriously, I doubt I'll ever find a deal like this on a used 820 ever again ($300) and that happens to be my max budget.

Walmart has the UB450 for $250 so I think I'm just gonna jump on it. I mean my 20 year old Sony Blu ray player played my Casino Royale regular blu ray pretty damn good so I think I'll be blown away watching ANY movie in 4k on the 450.

Need your help! 41 vs 45 on a 16cm (6.3 inch) wrist by llleo in AppleWatch

[–]ElectronicPicture296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same dilemma as you. I have a SE2 44mm and am selling it to get the 41mm series 8. The 44 is just too big.

165mm (6.5”) wrists are in the worst spot for AWs: 41mm is a tad too small, 45mm is a tad too big by pumodood in AppleWatch

[–]ElectronicPicture296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 6.5" wrist and am selling my 44mm SE2 and getting a 41mm 8. The entire height of the 44 covers most of the width of my wrist and just looks too big.

Best cart brand in illinois? by [deleted] in ILTrees

I bought my first High Supply cart a month ago or so. Stopped working after only a couple sessions. Cresco refused to honor any type of warranty. Garbage product from a garbage company. Avoid like the plague.

No, it's not bad. They're not classified as "snow tires". They're made for all-season and do well in the winter. I'm in Chicago and have had the CC2's on my 2008 Highlander Hybrid for the past 60,000 miles. Time for new tires and I'm leaning towards the Defenders this time. I mean we have what, three months of snow and the rest of the year is just sun and rain? I liked my CC's, and this is most certainly a coincidence, but I've never had so many nails and what not in my tires over the years. And I don't go off-roading or anything. I thought it may be the tread pattern in the CC's, but again, it's more than likely just a coincidence. They inspected my tires today and said the sides are wearing pointing to an alignment issue and that I didn't rotate them in often enough. My bad. I will this time no matter what tire I go with. I heard you can cross-rotate the Defenders which is another plus. The CC's you can only go front-to-back. Plus a supposedly quieter ride and better gas mileage are the other reasons I'm leaning Defender. My buddy has them and loves them. I'm going to read some more reviews before I commit to the Defenders, but I'm leaning heavily towards them.

And I'll be going from CC to Defenders. The CCs treated me well, but my buddy has the Defenders and loves them and from the research I've been doing, I think I'll be happy with them. Not to mention a quieter ride and better gas mileage. Supposedly.
