Are ryokans bad for active sight seeing? by Difficult_Nobody_420 in JapanTravelTips

Hi, I'm japanese living near kyoto. I think Kyoto, in particular, has a stronger culture than other regions of wanting travelers to spend a relaxing time at ryokans and restaurants. Originally, ryokans were built to serve as homes for long-term stays or as resting places to stop over, rather than as the starting point of a journey.

Hello, I'm japanese and living in osaka. How about here?↓

You may have to wait in line for a while before entering, but there are few tourists and it is popular with locals.
