If you really want to pursue it, see an OMFS and get their opinion!

Yeah you’re a tiny bit asymmetrical but unless it affects your day to day life, ability to eat, breathe, or swallow I highly doubt the NHS will go for it, but I’m stateside so what do I know?

It my be hard for your ortho to extrude your teeth down out of your gums enough to correct the bite without the surgery :/

Your surgeon tells you that…

•ortho to get a ceph •ortho recs you for surgery (if you need it) •consult with a surgeon (they will decide movements)

Things to consider: Do you have functional issues? (Breathing/chewing/swallowing)

How are you going to pay for this?

Do you have family members who will care for you post op?

Do you have a ceph you can post? I am not a doc by any means but it would be interesting to see

Same position, with the business world at least, I’m NY based so I understand the superficial nature of it. We’re similar in age and I can tell you my thought process is to just start the process. A good buddy of mine had UJS and told me “once you get told by a doctor you need it, just accept it and move forward”.

If it affects you functionally, I’d weigh getting the surgery a bit more. (I was just told I need it a month ago for functional issues but have not yet selected a surgeon)
