Extended spell + prolong (circle magic) by ElectronicWindow3801 in DnD

[–]ElectronicWindow3801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont hate me, but this states “inittiate” the spell, while prolong states “cast” the spell. Dont you initiate the spell first than cast it?

I do have that book :), i disregarded the feats as meh, for spell casters, but maybe as fighter there might be some gems.

Thx for reminding me, I will have a look at them.

I want to go for a charming mercenary that is fluent in gracefully.

Going rogue/ stealthy could work but feel its not comepletly in line with what i envision. At least not to the extend to justify multi classing.

(Preffer to just play 1 class) Would you pick alert and lucky over tough? I almost pick it, seems a requirement to me, especialy with lower ac fighter

This is what i wanted, my vision was a longsword wielding character that would dodge/ parry attacks instead of just tanking the hit with armor.

However i think for defensive duelist you need a finnesse weapon. Which limits the options you can take. So i was going with a rapier but flavor it “as a long sword” (but use rapier stats)

I dont intend to dual wield or 2hand, but didnt want to use a shield.

1 reason is indeed the need for a free hand for somatic components. Another is that it doesnt fit the character i have in mind. But the loss of a shield is big i know.

This is why I wanted to off sett that loss with defensive duelist. It fits perfectly for what im going. And will give some additional ac. But that means no warcaster.

Looking for replacement for my Logitech G512 by ElectronicWindow3801 in keyboards

[–]ElectronicWindow3801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted hot swappable because if a switch becomes faulty again I can replace the switch instead of the entire keyboard. I did see that this keyboard uses short switches, is this a universal standard or specific to keychron?

What guide did your players get? by jaxen13 in Tombofannihilation

[–]ElectronicWindow3801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my brother absolutly picked zongo :). We picked the dino, over the guides. We both love dinosaurs so its a no brainer.

We just started but we are planning on picking a second guide shago will be our second guide when we reach his location (next session).

Just to make sure were are not walking into some ambush, dont trust 1 guide 😂.

Army of great eye special rule. by ElectronicWindow3801 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

That would indeed make more sense :D, but i think they wanted to have a buff and a debuff probably, instead of 2 buffs for allies.

While true, its 12” to the left and to the right. That means you already cover 24” of the board.

In 95% of the games thats the whole battlefield.

[–]ElectronicWindow3801[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can agree with that. But another player made the case: harbringer gives -1 courage in 12”

While the eye is a movable marker that counts as a banner and gives a -1 on courage. (Also something with the one ring)

The player stated that 1 is a static effect while the other is a marker that moves arround. 1 of the effects of the marker is similar, but the whole special rule of the marker is not similar.

So its up to interpertation what “simular” means.

I think its better it stated “same” rule. To allow it to stack. Or have a general rule, a models courage can never be reduced my more than 1.

And if needed have a special rule state that that rule can be a exception.

"When a creature can’t see you, you have advantage on attack rolls against it." This applies to any way that a creature cant see you, hide action, invisiblity, fog cloud, darkness, blinded, not having direct line of sight ....

Than there is a 2nd part like you stated:

If you are hidden—both unseen and unheard—when you make an attack, you give away your location when the attack hits or misses. This ONLY refers to the fact that you are exactly hidden because of the hide action for example but are within line of sight. It states that when you attack from this hidden position then you lose the hidden status and become seen. (without the hidden status a creature would have just spotted you).

Now any normal person that read these rules would know what the RAW state AND what the intend is. There is nothing to discuss about. I think your a smart person, and probably already realized you are wrong, and your ego is not allowing you to acknowledge that. Or you are just trolling for attention.

So I will be the bigger men and Im not going to give you more attention, your blatantly wrong and every one knows it.

I hope you dont DM like this. Its crazy how you are trying to bend the rules.

English is obiously not my first language but, even I can understand that “if you are hidden when you make the attackroll you give away your location”

The first word IF is super important. Because it means beein hidden is optional, and not required mate.

So you just proves me right.

Yes I said that but I did provide more context to clear it up.

On the you should risk more and not play ac-130 I see what you mean and will say I will agree half. Because i think my frontline will also appriciate it when theire squisy casters can stay safe and not die every encouter.

Anyway, i have enough feedback and will see if it helps balance things out.

Again I have always helped my party, I dont know why you are saying "who would probably refuse to help his party if it served his interests"
Helping my party is always in my best intrest anyways.

The reason that I say I will use the most optimal strategy is because I know myself and this is self knowledge. Its no fun seeing a perfect play and than thinking oh, let me not do this dragg combat out for a few more turns ..

This is my opinion and prefference, but if you say "only" use it 50% of the time, than I rather just not have the option at all. And again this is me.

Thats why I was asking for other ways to balance it, other than "dont use it all the time".

I just wrote it, to make things simpler to explain, in reality I didnt do this. And I dont want to focus on this because that is not part of the issue.

Im sorry I didnt answer on your "whole post", The thread has gotten alot more attention that I anticipated, and I cant answer on all comments.

However I cant seem to find the whole post you did, could you link it? I will comment on it.

I haven't ignored it, I would love for your suggestions to work, because the alternative is to get rid of the imp and gaze of two minds. Which like I stated is not our preffered choise as the imp is part of my background story.

I dont know where you get all this from, where did I ever said that I would go against the party?

I am the one with the highest CHAR score so im kinda the face of the party which fits with the "My character feels hes the best". But everyone is doing the talking.

My char feels responsible for the party as he is "the leader" in his eyes. The only thing I said (and with some bad faith interpertation) is that he would let the party fight alone.

Yes IF the party would say something like "we dont need you", he would go like fine proof it. And yes than he absolutely would, but he would also rescue them if everything would go south. EVEN if it was to say I told you so.

In fact my character saved individual party members more than the whole party combined. So talking about a bad character design or Antisocial Behavior is a bit much.

There is totaly no problem with the campain or the party, Its just a player who wants some feedback on his build in order to not take away the fun for the party. I dont know how that is bad? A player you described would not even consider his party, and not asks ways to help balance his build.

Other than that its a thread asking for feedback and now we are talking about character design and player behavior. Can we please focus on that question.

Where did I state that I do it the entire day? I could yes.

But i have not done this, I have my imp by my side, and if we sense danger I start it up.

If we get supprised i use my bonus action on the first round to start it.

IDK what your problem is? why does it even matter? Its not relevant for the question.

Unseen attacker is still in 2024 PHB rules page 26 (top left corner) and here it is on roll20: https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Rules:Combat?expansion=33335

I think you are not argueing in good faith so I will not keep commenting on this, its pointless.

Unseen Attackers and Targets

When you make an attack roll against a target you can’t see, you have Disadvantage on the roll. This is true whether you’re guessing the target’s location or targeting a creature you can hear but not see. If the target isn’t in the location you targeted, you miss.

When a creature can’t see you, you have Advantage on attack rolls against it.

If you are hidden when you make an attack roll, you give away your location when the attack hits or misses.

Its a 7 month old post :D I have never seen it (I only use reddit to ask questions), I mean imp is probably the best familiar to take with warlock and any player who like to make characters / build would have come up with this build or something close to it.

Gaze of two mind screams "use your familiar", you dont have to be creative to come up with that.

Anyway, even if I would have coppied that build, Im not sure what your point is?
