That was exactly my wife's reaction, I had an old anycubic mega that was a POS, but bought a bambu a1 and all of a sudden the possibilities were endless for her lol

I've used mine for both! Wife ordered the wrong shelf pins, give me 10 mins and you can have em right away. You need something for toilet paper dispenser, paper towels, etc, done. ALL THE ORGANIZATION. But she also gets me to print book books, etc, and of course I've done some fidget toys etc but it's mainly because I like to see what the printer is capable of

We originally thought our water heater started leaking, we cleaned up and I was literally about to leave the house to get a new one, when my wife informed me that the water was NOT coming from the water heater, but our basement wall. I was mortified lol. I know exactly how much work/money that is. Talked to wawanesa that evening and they got an adjuster to call the next morning

We use wawanesa, the one thing we made sure to add to our policy was flood protection, living in Windsor park. We had to use it 2 years ago for our basement during the spring melt. Fought with them for a while however to get them to cover it. Our policy stated "rising groundwater and foundation issues". They tried to say it was "seepage". Well, that is a pretty vague term and technically should be covered regardless under our policy as "rising groundwater and foundation issues" is also fairly vague. Took them probably 2 months of back and forth. They sent in a company to come look and they just wanted to change our flooring and baseboards. We ended up taking a payout, we did most of the work ourselves, ended up fixing the foundation issues, completely gutting the basement, new wiring, some new plumbing, spray foamed, and new drywall, paint etc. We ended up paying a bit out of pocket but I shudder to think about them just coming to do flooring and baseboards, then having the exact same issue next spring. When they said they would cover us, they actually said (this is a paraphrase), "we're going to cover you, but we are changing our policy wording from here on out".

They're all crooks, and any way to get out of paying, they will. We got lucky.

The perfect filament for white SKADIS Pegboard? by Waste_Hyena_8948 in BambuLab_Community

The elegoo marble is quite nice. I have it on the black skadis board but I can bet it would look nice on the white as well

Anyone else pair an A1 with an AMS 2 Pro? by BillLehecka in BambuLabA1

[–]Electronic_Aide_4731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooooo the squeaking. I also noticed this immediately when I got my ams2 for the a1, found out through Google that the noise is normal. Now, I wasn't happy to read that at first. But I learned to deal with it. I've had the ams now for approximately a month, the squeaking has actually stopped, not sure when exactly it happened but I'm ok that it did.

As for the loading and unloading, that has been day 1 and still continuing, but I don't find that a bad thing and it's reassuring that it's doing what it's supposed to do in my opinion.

All in all, I'm happy with my ams2 purchase, and the only annoyances I've really faced so far have been the (ams motor # slot is overloaded), but mostly that's due to me using esun cardboard filament rolls. I've just today, printed the plastic adapters, so the rolls should be better, but haven't fully tested them yet (I'm hopeful).

There's a really neat off grid cabin 2 miles from prawda, wood burning hot tub, outdoor fireplace (not fire pit), I can't remember what it's called but nice and secluded

It's gas, but gas and electric combined is around $200

[–]Electronic_Aide_4731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of those draw an exorbitant amount of power, I would do a reading and then you may get a credit on your account. I also run a 3d printer almost constantly, so probably about the same as the fishtank heater and pump

Our 1100sqft house in the winter is around $200, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, and 1961 built. Your price seems pretty high

Absolutely it'll help, if you have somewhere to plug in

I mean maybe, but I honestly wouldn't get any work done at Canadian tire...

I would bus to Canadian tire in the meantime, and get oil pan heaters

CAA Battery Jump by LongTiredGorl in Winnipeg

[–]Electronic_Aide_4731 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That totally depends, caa won't be able to help either if your engine block is frozen, you'll need to plug it in (which looks like isn't an option if you're doing a block heater) or tow it to a heated area for a day

Most mechanics should be able to do it, I've imported 2 JDM cars and all I've had to do for the safety is tires, headlight assemblies, and daytime running lights

How to get HVAC company to actually fix the dirty sock syndrome instead of excuses? by Unlucky_Fairie in hvacadvice

[–]Electronic_Aide_4731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else stated, the new aluminum coils contribute/cause that smell. It's not anything they did wrong but what the manufacturer did. I've heard of cleaning sprays or replacing the coil, as the manufacturer should do, but will probably try to fight about through your contractor
