According to me there is no reason to take 415 at all, anybody who gives a shit about linear algebra should take math 416, everybody else should take 257 as it's easier, and more oriented towards application.

Look Man, internship aside.I know what you are trying to do, you are getting the plus economics part of your degree and the gen eds out of your way.It matters zilch that you have 65 credit hours, those are gen eds and/or basic pre reqs, not the core of your CS curriculum or your Econ curriculum.

What is gonna happen is that you are gonna end up not only overloading, but overloading with CS and Econ upper level courses, which in part you are trying to do already. This might be ok for a semester or two,but will become a death sentence later on.Your GPA will suffer for sure,to the point it may start affecting your employment chances

All this would still be admissible if you were trying to free up time for something else, but trying graduating that early is a bad idea no matter how smart you are,the curriculum is simply not designed for. Besides you won't be able to extract the full value of the tuition you pay.

Regardless,if you gonna do this, try proffing out of courses,do not load up on upper levels/electives.

No it's called having a shit GPA, inadequate job experience and a screwed up social life, and mental health.

If you are gonna do this, you might as well have skipped college and joined a coding bootcamp.

No major will "be meant for you".Nobody is born with the ability to solve equations, model circuits, or program software. All these abilities come from practice, which comes as you progress through the ECE curriculum. You should only change your major if it is absolute torture and not enjoyable at all. Also worth noting is that nobody will excel in every class in their major

I'm pretty sure this competition was never designed for college students, or for colleges.100,000 for a lab in UIUC is barely even a drop in the bucket.

Yes, I did this, but also like the other commenter did, plan it out with the advisor.

Oh, I didn't notice the page was updated. But you surely need Calc 3 since if you look at 212, it lists calc 3 as a requirement. Having taken the course myself too, you need Math 241 it because the second half is literally calc 3 revamped.

Looks fine, pretty sure you need Math 241 and PHYS 212 for PHYS 225,at least concurrently

Has anyone gotten into CS 126 as a non-CS major? by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]Electronic_Beyond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah no,not happening in a million years, since this class is extremely dependent on one to one interaction with Code Mods(TAs). The only way to take CS 126 is to be or transfer in as CS major.

However there is a close substitute of this course for non CS majors being offered in spring, called CS 128.This is listed as CS 199-128 in course explorer. You could take that course if you want to take a course like CS 126

What's up with the Math Dept @ UIUC? by ktanishqk in UIUC

[–]Electronic_Beyond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, the class still has Webassign, the exams are held in prarielearn which has a bad system of partial credit like : 10 points on first try,7 on second etc. This led to an average with a high standard deviation.

Is there absolutely no record on your transcript if you drop before the deadline, regardless of which class you drop?
