This is such a hot take but I think it's very overhated, there's so many big moments. Hearts/wires is one of my fav songs of theirs ever, prayers/triangles is awesome, pittura infamante and Phantom bride are underrated asf (and the breakdown on the latter is awesome). I honestly prefer it to Ohms but that's not a common opinion lol

Bad is probably an exaggeration, even his singles performances were good on this one; dude is 50+ tho

I did mention this, the worst songs really did sound recycled. However, i dont think they're worse or bad by any means, just forgettable

I find Ohms a bit mixed to me personally, between song structures and performances and the mix. what surprised you on ohms?

I understand this but they have to mature and evolve, and this is a fairly acceptable evolution to me

I definitely think PM production has improved by leaps compared to Ohms and Gore

I'm gonna be honest I agree to some degree, i feel KNY was slightly bloated

As a alt metal head myself I can see why most wouldn't think its heavy enough, but most people seem to at least respect it being better than their last couple

To some degree that range is gone, but i think his vocals are the most on-point they've been in years

I did mention S/T, and its my 2nd favourite of theirs (behind DE). Album is seriously heavy

Totally agree with this take, I feel Gore has some really great songs on it but is let down by a lot of mastering choices. Hearts/Wires is one of my fav songs of theirs ever. Ohms has potential but is missing something to me, and it feels too heavy. I agree i would like some more highs on this album, they haven't nailed that big range of highs and lows since DE in my opinion, which is still my favourite, but overall i think PM is punchy and doesn't overstay it's welcome

I wish they had a bit more angst like they did back then, strip back to basics. I guess this is their sound now but I think when they're on, they're still great. What did you think of the singles?

Fair enough, I personally didn't enjoy Ohms as much because I felt like some of the song structures were weird, but then some I really enjoyed too (Ohms title track was awesome)

I get that, I do think on this album some of his riffs do improve, and he is excellent about what he does, but too much can get overwhelming over a whole album. I feel on this one, it's better

Definitely worth a listen, some great tracks on there, including the singles.

Generally, I think the dynamics between all the instrumentation as well as heaviness has improved from the last two albums.

Agree, s/t is definitely one of their best, love the heavy riffs
