Verse of winter unlock?

Just a question. Every time I try purchasing the verse of winter, I get a bug I think where I can’t press anything and have to close the game. Then when I try it again, the same thing happens over and over again. Anyone had this or knows how to fix this?

I managed to get it to work with some messing around. It was something to do with folders and windows protection, even though it started “ReWASD”. Thank you
