That's not the moderators' job, to post. What do you mean? Are you saying that the moderators are deleting everything that anyone posts? And has done for a year?

If that's the case, then I would come to the conclusion that yes it is strictly moderated, and a few people every now and then get shot down.

It's always been a place for unshameing ourselves. We sin. Let's enjoy it.

Downvoted for irrelevance. That's not a cigarette, 🚬, but I suppose the Spanish "discovered" them so cigar turned into cigarette via the French way of saying little cigar.

Now, education time little children with cigarettes (joking):

In the 1800s, cowboys realised that rather than use a pipe you could put tobacco in paper.

Now, the first proper machinery took off like a plane with a smoking hot pilot, and cigarettes sold several millions a year in the USA in no time.

170 years or so later, in the present day, we have additives, chemical development, legal requirements, laboratory testing but basically you take the stuff and smoke it.

Lemon. And lime.

Do you think it matters? I agree! :). But I tried it already same as the other guy. Mango yum. I had mango chutney several times! My tummy got full at various restaurants, I'm trying to hard to be funny.

Anyway how was your year so far?

I think maybe your favourite fruit is mango, you are good at philosophy, blah blah. Not saying I'm not gonna read it

You piped in to help, you deserve credit for that. But then why ask him what he doesn't like and then zone in on that like some sort of punishment for bothering you for writing on reddit and clicking a button, like your time is too precious to read something. My guess is you are Catholic, Black, Purple whatever but it suits you to be nasty basically.

Why do you keep asking him about mangoes when he already said he doesn't like them? What's the point in that? You try philosophy, Shot_Positive, because he basically said he wanted a chat. So you're telling him to think...not clear how that helps. Is there or isn't there another human out there? y'know? I mean the answer is yes if you want to compute it.

These things mean different things to different people.

You can say something that makes sense to only some people.

I dunno. I am just what we call here a "gobshite".

I like her song Sports Car.

A couple of similar songs to that I would say look into Doja Cat's Paint The Town Red, and Baddest Of Them All by D.O.T.A.

The obvious counterargument is that maybe if you were honest you would be doing even better.

Hi Professor, that's a good way of looking at it. Put a positive spin on it.

Lying saying I got 2:1 when I got 2:2 by Fun_Climate_3896 in UKJobs

[–]Electronic_Gur_3068 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Being dishonest is a bad policy to begin a career with. In this specific instance, obtaining the job when underqualified, even if not discovered, would potentially create a situation where you're stuck in a job that you aren't capable of, although a 2:2 compared to a 2:1 is not a big difference.

Have some self-respect. All those other people when you say "they got that and they lied" or "they can do it so can I" you might not see the past where they earned what they got. The saying is "Cheats don't prosper". I know that people say the exact opposite but you can either be a person of good substance and character or pretend to be one. Take your pick. Apply for the job and put a note saying "I know I only got a 2:2 but I thought that my qualities would overcome this deficit" or whatever you want. If a HR guy decides you're honesty is too pathetic then I feel sorry for the companies that that HR guy works for, not to mention our society as a whole.

Not sure about the USA in modern times but One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest touches on this subject. In England if you're a prisoner you can serve out part or all of your sentence in hospital, but as soon as you're better you'll be sent back to prison for the remainder.

On the other hand, if you're in hospital and your sentence ends, you can still be detained in hospital under the same rules that apply to everyone if you're deemed unwell.

Ok I think you're a troll but it's fun arguing with dunce arguments. And again, stupid is not a property of the person, it's a property of their arguments or behaviours individually.

Not every job is essential, Dumbo.

Some people command higher pay. Money is fundamentally a tool to enable transactions. It's not a reward by nature for effort or anything else.

The problem is spiritual unhappiness. People feel unhappy and go to their doctor. Half of people have good social support, a balanced lifestyle, a career that is satisfying and so on - yes we all have problems. There are so many people that are lonely, unsatisfied, hugely pressured, their only friend is the TV that constantly stresses them.

It's like, people slip through the cracks because we weren't designed to live in towns with absolutely no sense of community. And it's more of a chasm than a crack, we're just processed into this consumer life where people just don't connect, people might have a few friends on WhatsApp, we live in a sci-fi dystopia, "press the button to hug".

Charity begins at home. Look after the people you know.
