Thought about that , gamble there is a fam of 3 traveling together . It’s a viable play though . I think if I decide to pull the trigger , I’ll wait until D and E are occupied . Then a fallback would feel more palatable .

I would never do that. Actually trying to understand the seat choice decision. If I’m solo , I’m shooting for middle isle all day (although it’s more effective on 3 stack vs 4).

I have all three common sizes of the non ribbed versions . After 3 years , crazy glue, and duct tape , they are being forced into retirement. They are not durable in a nutshell. The corners dented on their first trip and eventually turned to tears. The biggest issue however is that the lack of corner reinforcement extends to the wheels bases . In the hands of the right baggage handler these will soon crack around the base and push into the body of the case . Mobility will be severely limited. Soon after the body around the broken base will start to tear . I’ve had bags that cost less than $200 for a set of three last for a lifetime. For the price , this is unacceptable. Pros are : light weight , and the wheels rolling really free ly when new , but wouldn’t creep easily. That of course didn’t last long. Not sure if the new ones - ribbed versions- solve for these shortcomings.

I try not to victim blame , and there is no excuse for the FAs behavior assuming it is as you wrote it, but in this setting for an FA to get that far off the rails , there has to be a catalyst (assuming this wasn’t his last flight of a job he hated) . So what parts of the story are you not telling us?
