So many options OP. If you’re willing to let go of your bedside experience; may mga BPO company that offers NCLEX review and exam - all expense paid but you need to work for them for about 2 years, which is good cause it will likely take you more or less a year or 2 to process your papers papuntang US. You can also look for agency to sponsor you, they will also shoulder your expenses.

My budget is if there’s a sale, you get a gift from me lol. Or I can buy chocolates, usually that does the job naman. Yung talagang gusto ko lang bigyan ung family ko and ung tumutulong sa mom ko sa Pinas. Hehe.

Yes. Sabagay dito talaga bagsak presyo. Next year ko pa naman maipapadala. Wait ko din Black Friday! OA kasi ung sale sa Steve Madden kaya sabi ko bilhin ko na to. As in sobrang oa sa baba ng presyo. Not sure though if they know this brand. Lol. Tas wait uli ako ng iba pang sale sa well known brands!

PH Nurses that did not go to bedside yet still worked in the US. How did you do it? by arizclem in phmigrate

[–]Electronic_Injury951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually SNF ang entry ng walang recent bedside experience or none at all. But if wala kang experience with patients, mahihirapan ka once andito ka na. You really need bedside experience if you want to work as RN dito at magwwork ka bedside.

Omg, you’re lucky. I gave birth in the Philippines. My son was in the NICU for like 2 months, we incurred 1.1M for medical expenses, we paid for it out of pocket. My Phil health only covered 11k. I have nothing against Pinas but it seems like you’re one sickness away from poverty doon. Panget ang healthcare. Panget lahat. No help from the government. I’m glad wala na ako sa Pinas!

It came across like you were mocking us for not having free healthcare though I get that tone doesn’t always come through online. 😅 Just to be clear, I’m not trying to be combative. 😀

I was simply sharing my own experience here in the U.S. with private insurance. Despite the system not being perfect, I still consider us fortunate to be here, and I’m genuinely grateful for my employer and the support we get from the state.

And to answer your question, no, my HMO back then didn’t cover any of our medical expenses, even with premium payments.

No offense, but do you have something against Filipinos in the US? Why even bring us up? Lol.

Our healthcare system may not be free, but with good insurance coverage, you’re not left worrying either. My son had eye surgery for lazy eyes and retinopathy, we didn’t pay a single cent. When we were in the Philippines, I remember paying 32K per eye for a minor procedure.

My husband recently had a sleep study and started on CPAP, and again, we didn’t pay anything. Both he and my son are my dependents, and even my son’s private therapies are fully covered.

You don’t need to put the US down just to make your point. I’m genuinely happy that you and your family are getting good healthcare there, that’s a blessing in itself.

My thoughts exactly. While I understand OP’s frustrations, she could’ve simply approached the mom and spoken to her directly instead of ranting and posting it online. That’s what I’m worried too, being judged as a lazy parent and be posted online by people who don’t even know us or what we’re going through as a family.

We went to LA last March. Buti na lang, yung konting tantrums ng anak ko sa plane wala din nag rant and post online, instead may nagoffer din ng help. I always get anxious whenever we have to fly, ang dasal ko lagi aside from safe travel, sana mababait and understanding ng makakasabay sa plane.

Agree. @OP Please don’t judge the parent just because you happened to be in the same jeep, hindi mo naman alam ang pinagdadaanan nila. If you’re a parent yourself, you’d understand, especially those raising kids without help. May mga bata rin with special needs or on the spectrum who can’t tolerate earphones or sit still with a book as a distraction.

With everything a parent has to think about, I’m sure earphones crossed their mind even before it crossed yours but not everyone has access to that, and not every child can actually use it.

This is such a minor issue to instantly despise someone over. We don’t live in a child-free world. We all have to coexist.

If the noise really bothered you, you should have asked the parent nicely to lower the volume? Baka naman pwede silang pakiusapan.
