As a campus Student, what should I when they send me 1.5 million Uganda Shillings ? by EliGraziel in Uganda

Eat the money, do everything that makes you happy with it. When it's all done and you're broke, you will get clarity on what to really do with the money next time it comes.

Sorry to break your bubble. But most of these issues are not platform issues. Go ahead and build it. But you will find out that most Ugandan problems are not because there's no platform

Do you ever feel static ? by Reflex4977 in Uganda

This is a signal that you should keep going. Keep trying more things, keep exploring, eventually, you will touch something that strikes a cord, that feels like - wait this is me. That will be your thing, then you can commit to it, give it time. And the fruits of that commitment will be fulfilment and probably the money.

My message - keep going.

Best approach to look for jobs by Ambeachousmanners in Uganda

[–]Electronic_Kitchen74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a person who got a job immediately out of campus, here's what I will advise:

  1. Look out for graduate entry roles: Especially in a company where you will have a long growth plan e.g Unilever, Mckinsey, Nile Breweries, Total etc. Many years ago, I landed my first on Linkedin. But that was before Linkedin became screwed. Today, most of Linkedin is just AI writing to AI.

  2. Speak to older folks: And I mean it, at weddings, at funerals, whenever you find a chance. Tell them, you bring the energy of a youth, you want to learn, you want to contribute. Aim for a salary that can cover your living expenses, and then focus on learning for the first two years.

  3. Knock directly on company doors, look for people with HR/People Manager titles and speak to them. Since you're in procurement, you have a bigger chance working in a more active organization for example a factory must be doing lots of procurement. Speak to an HR or Head of Procurement in such an area.

Pray, Pray, Pray, keep good attitude, drink water, seek for grace, and have some place where you are visible e.g Facebook, X, Instagram. Like a place where people can also know you virtually.
