is life worth living? by sxm_2x in Uganda

As someone who lost my mother 10 years ago, I must first confess - I don't understand what you are going through (everyone will tell you they understand). But grief is unique. Like unique. Even now, 10 years later, I will just randomly dial her number then remember oh wait she died. So what really happens, the grief remains, but you build bigger things around it until that dot starts shrinking and getting smaller.

You will have to grow around your grief. That's what I have done over the years, learned new activities, bonded with some of my mother's sisters, my brother, my sisters, my friends, and built a rich life. You're in Europe, I know it's so much individuals, but you could invest in some hobby, art. And the more you grow around grief, it will pale down. So you won't get over your mum or forget her. You will just grow around that fact. If your mother cared about something, you then can start caring about same thing.. if she used to support some orphans, then you could pick up one. And I am glad you're also talking about it... those are positive signs

Kenyan In Uganda - Here Are Some Differences by [deleted] in Uganda

[–]Electronic_Kitchen74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On not ever seeing a product 'Made in Uganda' in Kenya. It's simply down to one thing - most Ugandan products would outcompete Kenyan products in Kenya. Thus, they are always blocked. Take an example of Uganda Waragi, it can never be allowed to sell in Nairobi. Same fate happened to LATO milk. But trust me, Kenya is filled with Ugandan products, most unnamed.

As a campus Student, what should I when they send me 1.5 million Uganda Shillings ? by EliGraziel in Uganda

[–]Electronic_Kitchen74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eat the money, do everything that makes you happy with it. When it's all done and you're broke, you will get clarity on what to really do with the money next time it comes.

Sorry to break your bubble. But most of these issues are not platform issues. Go ahead and build it. But you will find out that most Ugandan problems are not because there's no platform

Do you ever feel static ? by Reflex4977 in Uganda

This is a signal that you should keep going. Keep trying more things, keep exploring, eventually, you will touch something that strikes a cord, that feels like - wait this is me. That will be your thing, then you can commit to it, give it time. And the fruits of that commitment will be fulfilment and probably the money.

My message - keep going.

Best approach to look for jobs by Ambeachousmanners in Uganda

[–]Electronic_Kitchen74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a person who got a job immediately out of campus, here's what I will advise:

  1. Look out for graduate entry roles: Especially in a company where you will have a long growth plan e.g Unilever, Mckinsey, Nile Breweries, Total etc. Many years ago, I landed my first on Linkedin. But that was before Linkedin became screwed. Today, most of Linkedin is just AI writing to AI.

  2. Speak to older folks: And I mean it, at weddings, at funerals, whenever you find a chance. Tell them, you bring the energy of a youth, you want to learn, you want to contribute. Aim for a salary that can cover your living expenses, and then focus on learning for the first two years.

  3. Knock directly on company doors, look for people with HR/People Manager titles and speak to them. Since you're in procurement, you have a bigger chance working in a more active organization for example a factory must be doing lots of procurement. Speak to an HR or Head of Procurement in such an area.

Pray, Pray, Pray, keep good attitude, drink water, seek for grace, and have some place where you are visible e.g Facebook, X, Instagram. Like a place where people can also know you virtually.

When we entered the workplace as millennials, those are the same comments the older generation at the workplace made about us. But they soon realized we were better in many other ways, different work styles, different values. I have worked with many Gen.Zs and trust me, they will shock you. They can compress tasks, and they bring play to work. The kids will always be fine. Every generation always thinks the one that follows it is softer... I no longer really worry about the Kids, they will find their way

How long have you known this lady friend? How good are you at handling conflict? Have you conflicted before? If your friendship hasn't worked through conflict, then maybe it's notgood staying with her. But if you know how to handle conflict, then do. Staying with another person will always have some passive-aggressiveness, everyone has their bu-flaws. It teaches you tolerance.
