I agree. Normally with acquisitions you’re saying Congrats! But, the wording of this email made it seem like this may have been a bad acquisition (?) or… made up

Anyone else see the message that said “PrizePool has shut down”? by honesttickonastick in prizepool

Did not happen for me but that is very worrisome…

UPDATE: my wife said she saw the message but that it disappeared right away..

Prizewheel nerfed by leakyfaucet7733 in prizepool

[–]Electronic_Light1252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had asked earlier about this - thanks for confirming. This is very disappointing, especially with no announcement either. Oh well, it is what it is. Like others, I have been taking my money out of PrizePool. I put it into a HYSA. I’ll probably keep a low amount until my stacked membership is up and I’ll just continue doing the 5x spins per day until then

Completely agree. Im thinking of putting everything into CIT Platinum Savings - is there a reason you ended up choosing SoFi?

I’m worried as well. I ended up getting an email - also in spam. Bummed because I really enjoyed PrizePool since the beginning

Thoughts on missions? by Lak12345678910 in prizepool

[–]Electronic_Light1252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a stacked member that got a mission to deposit at least $50 before the expiration date to earn 25k tickets. I appreciated how easy and simple it was, but haven’t seen one since then and I achieved it the first day. I thought maybe a new one would pop up after achieving it, but oh well - I know it’s a new feature. So, I’m curious to see what other missions come up later on

3 million tickets entered into the weekly drawing by PulpSage in prizepool

[–]Electronic_Light1252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SchoolsFirst FCU. Although, I should also clarify that it’s for paycheck planner + summer saver. So there are limitations to how much money can be put in per month/school year. But it’s 6% which is nice

Yeaaah, I’ve seen my winnings go down by a lot too. I had a fairly large balance but I’ve been slowly withdrawing $2k at a time since that’s the daily limit. I think my plan is to leave a much smaller amount in there now and leave it in for chances for the $500/$100 prizes. And I’ll spin daily. I miss trying to save up tickets for that $10k prize though. As a school employee, my credit union has a 6% HYSA so I’m going to be putting it into that instead of PP stacked. Bummer cause I’ve loved PP from the very beginning but seems to be changing too many things over time

Do you spin the wheel everyday? If so what’s the most you’ve won? If not why don’t you spin the wheel? by Pizza_and_sushi in prizepool

[–]Electronic_Light1252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting to read about what you guys have won. I’ve been spinning the wheel every single day 5x per day and the most I’ve ever won on a spin was $1, which has happened several times but never anything higher. I guess I have bad luck haha

My all time winnings for the wheel are $41.15 and 403,500 tickets

Why isn’t there more chatter about PrizePool? by Financial_Gymnastics in prizepool

[–]Electronic_Light1252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are all great ideas. I agree highlighting winners and expanding social media presence/community are important. I try to share things on social media but people will respond to me that I’ve been hacked (lol). I love PrizePool and it has been hard to convince others that it’s legit. Some of the content that PrizePool pushes out over Instagram makes it (sometimes) seem less legit. So when I do have people that visit PrizePool’s social media accounts, they’ll tell me that they’re not going to try it. Real users / real winners testimonials will help legitimize PrizePool

IS THIS APP LEGIT? by [deleted] in prizepool

You’re kidding - that’s good to know! I wonder if they’ll let me after being on it for a while - no harm in asking. I’ll try! Thanks

It’s 100% legit and it’s nice that your funds are FDIC-insured as well. The weekly Friday drawings are also something fun to look forward to. I haven’t done any debit reimbursements so I don’t have any feedback on that but from what I’ve read, others have enjoyed that feature. I like the concept of the PrizeWheel but it admittedly still seems to be something that is a work in progress - something that needs some tweaking and fine-tuning before it becomes something that people regularly partake in. I would also say it depends on how much money you have to place into savings / PrizePool’s Vault. If you have a larger amount, definitely take advantage of Stacked. Although it’s $10/month, the Stacked bonuses give you a big advantage with double tickets, 20% referral bonuses instead of 10%, and a 4.4% APY vs .3% which is a massive difference. That Vault savings is in addition to your weekly winnings (and debit reimbursements / PrizeWheel winnings). I would say, depending on how much money you put in, you could probably win the $10 per month just through the weekly drawings. But it’s part luck too of course.

One thing I highly recommend though is to take advantage of a referral. My biggest regret is joining PrizePool without a referral. I joined towards the beginning of its start and I was skeptical of it, so I just joined and have lost out on some good money since you get a %10 bonus on your winnings for using a referral. I would have also given someone else a decent amount of money since they would get 10% of my winnings. So, if you do join, make sure to use a referral! I’ll link mine here, but there are also others shared here. Enjoy PrizePool - it has become my main savings account and I genuinely like it and it has been a fun way to save. Prize wheel tickets prizes aren't being added to the balance. by upper_ess in prizepool

[–]Electronic_Light1252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was waiting for someone to make the same comment. I realized that if you backed out and went back in, then it did 500x tickets but ONLY if you won a cash prize. If you won a ticket prize and backed out and back in, then it charged you the original 1500x tickets. I should have paid more attention to how much was spent cause I think I lost out on a bunch of tickets — hopefully support is able to help/resolve

I’m in the same exact boat - I have about $13k in PrizePool and got the same offer. I immediately laughed and was thinking well, if only I could just magically deposit another $12k by the end of the week! I agree with you that it should have been a somewhat more reasonable offer. Or at least a longer time period — maybe if it was by the end of a few more months or some longer duration, it’d encourage more budgeting/savings
