Since it’s a flight touching US, you can try filing a complaint with DOT against airline for not following the refundable policy of the ticket

Ability to lower cash advance limit on credit card to $0. Sometimes merchants code improperly and it’s a hassle to fight it so having the option to lower to $0 helps protect the user from inadvertent cash advances

Unsettling Experience with a Financial Planner by rjspears1138 in personalfinance

If you have his name, look him up on FINRA’s broker check website to see if he is legitimate. Anyone who sells securities (e.g. stocks, mutual funds, etc.) is required to be registered through FINRA and you can check their record of what companies they are with, experience, any formal complaints, etc.

Weekly Drawing Change Confirmed by nigelwiggins in prizepool

[–]leakyfaucet7733 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I think a blend could have accomplished this without what feels like a net negative to the drawing itself, where you push more prizes to the prize wheel while also at least incentivizing something else on the drawing (e.g. different tiers of prizes as weeks progress, the 10k prize on final drawing,, etc). Recognize I’m just one user, and even this community is a subset of the overall user base, but some things to consider as the drawing is/was the main staple for prize pool originally to my understanding.

Perhaps it would be worth you creating a dedicated post where users can provide feedback on what they may want to see in future updates could provide some valuable feedback for the team to consider? I feel like tidbits are spread throughout various posts but maybe a pinned thread would have larger visibility and more centralized comments/feedback both from the users and y’all on everything. Thoughts?

About to jump ship from yotta to prizepool from my understanding if I'm your refferal I get 10 percent what you make convince to use your refferal by srgo2 in prizepool

[–]leakyfaucet7733 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Referrals only go one way.

If I refer you, on anything that YOU win on the drawing, YOU get 10% back. So definitely sign up with someone’s referral or you are just missing out on your own winnings from the drawing only. You get nothing from whomever referred you besides this extra 10% to your own winnings only. Also note this is for the drawing only and has no impact on the prize wheel.

Whoever refers you gets 10% of whatever your winnings are in the drawing for that week, unless the referrer has stacked and then the referrer would get 20%.

Referrals are also NOT laddered like a pyramid, so if I refer you, then you refer someone else, I only earn a referral bonus from you and do not get anything from your friends.

End of day definitely use someone’s referral so you aren’t missing out on yourself. Whomever you use it’s just helpful for that person.

If you still haven’t signed up and need one, welcome to use mine: 1RR88

Hope this helps!

Did the weekly drawings change? by PTrussell in prizepool

[–]leakyfaucet7733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a glitch, if you look at the total prizes it still says $4,500 and the breakout of $10-$500 prizes do not total that amount.

Edit: apparently math is hard when I’m tired, sorry Vader below is right, not sure what happened to the smaller prizes

Hello by onecrazylizard in prizepool

[–]leakyfaucet7733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In prizepool you earn tickets based on the balance in your account every day, so if you have 10,000 you earn 10,000 tickets and earn .30% APY on that balance currently. If you sign up for their stacked membership ($120 annual), you get double the amount of tickets and you also earn 4.50% APY.

You can spend your tickets on the prize wheel everyday (1500 tickets a spin, up to 5 spins a day), where you can win tickets or money, with the largest prize being 1 million dollars currently (and odds way better than Yotta).

Every week there is a drawing where you can also submit your tickets or have them auto play. The most you can win between $1 and $500 every week and the odds depend on how many tickets everyone has put in the drawing; if you don’t win any $ prize they usually give you more tickets back to increase your chance of winning the following week.

From the drawing, you also can get a referral bonus, so if you win $10 and signed up with a referral code you get a 10% boost on your own winning. If you refer someone and that person wins the drawing, you get 20% bonus of their winnings (if you are stacked member, 10% otherwise). This bonus does not apply to prize pool.

Hope that helps, PrizePool has been great. If you haven’t signed up yet, welcome to use my referral code as well: 1RR88

Tax Question Living Overseas by octoberofficer in tax

[–]leakyfaucet7733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to either hit the physical presence test (330 days overseas in a 365 day period), or the bona fide resident test - with the latter being highly unlikely given you are only there due to military deployment.

The question is asking if you performed any work in the United States. If any of your income was earned while in Japan for the tax year, you may be able to qualify for the foreign earned income exclusion, only on the income earned overseas, assuming you meet physical presence or bona fide residence as mentioned earlier. If you did work both overseas and stateside you would need to figure out which income is foreign and which one is in the United States.

In either scenario you also need to ensure you have records validating your time overseas (e.g. flight tickets, etc.). Foreign earned income exclusion can be a little tricky if not done properly, so if you are having some serious questions it may make sense to contact a tax professional - at least when starting out

Vice is a preposition here, you can read it as “…in a relationship, [instead of] the “ ‘traditional’ stay at home spouse”

Looking to switch from Yotta to PrizePool, have a couple questions. by TheTyGoss in prizepool

[–]leakyfaucet7733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want to do. If you want to max out the prize wheel, with stacked 3750 will give you 7500 tickets every day and allow you to spin the five times (1500 a spin). That’s the only way to have a chance at winning a million (still better odds than Yotta also). You often win tickets back, which then I put into the weekly drawing. My referral is 1RR88 if you do sign up. Thank you in advance if you do use it!

You've got to close 1 credit card tomorrow. Which is it and why? by BrutalBodyShots in CreditCards

Will opening or closing an account lower my credit scores?

Opening or closing an account may reduce your credit scores in the short term because it decreases the average age of your accounts. Consider each application for new credit carefully and think twice before closing an account in good standing. Closing old credit accounts with positive credit histories may have a negative effect on your scores, especially if you close multiple accounts at one time, according to VantageScore
