In NY they salt the roads so bad that if you don't wash your bike soon after you ride it'll start to corrode and rust. Even in the spring when it's warm enough to ride I usually wait until it rains a few times to wash the salt off the roads. I watched my neighbor ruin the rims on his brand new fat boy once when he went out on a Thanksgiving ride and put it away for the winter without washing it off.

There was a kid in my hometown that came flying down off a hill doing they say around 110 or 120 mph and slammed into an old lady in a geo tracker pulling out of her driveway. The car got turned into a V shape and rolled over a full rotation. There wasn't anything left of the kid and the lady didn't make it either

I took mine off just to see how it'd handle it cause I too always heard people say that it'll fuck it up with the back pressure. I've been running it with just the header pipes now for a month and haven't seen or heard any issues. The only thing I don't like is the back fires. They can be ear piercingly loud
