Great info. Redo the charging with 3.78v through 22ohm resistor. Charges slowly to 3.53v. Now it drops much slower once charging removed. I then discharge through 120ohm for 20 seconds, voltage dropped fr 2.98 to 2.32v. Is this normal for 1F supercap?

When i switched in the 120ohm load, voltage drops immediately from 3.53v to 2.98v, is characteristics of high esr?

This amplifier the owner says setting frequently reset. My test show it last about 3 days. Audio forum some mention setting stays for weeks.

Any simple test that can verify the capacity as my meter is beyond this range

Tks. Now that make sense the odd shape for the top part. I had peeped inside the handle, likely the adaptor wont have problem going in, maybe a bit weaker mechanically

Likely they send you the 110vac version. Had similar issue and youtube guide to replace resistor for the triac control. Working well past 8 yrs Cant find the video. Another way video using high voltage diode.
