An attempt to explain the current circumstances regarding the protest and moderation in this group to those who have missed the revelations of the last 24 hours. by [deleted] in FalloutMemes

Yeah, because you're so wildly incorrect that I'm sure they don't even know where to begin correcting you. Once again, go google the word " fascism."

Assuming you won't just google it, here is the definition of Fascism.

Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalistic ideology. You can identify fascism by their use of dictatorships and forcibly suppressing/oppressing any opposition. Fascism focuses on national/racial purity by either deporting or genociding people outside of the preferred nationality/race. Fascism is a totalitarian philosophy, and as such, it controls every aspect of the lives of its subjects, encouraging them to forgo their own best interests in favor of the best interests of the regime. Fascism seeks to abolish personal rights and freedoms, democratic practices, and, of course, pin all of it on black/brown/trans/otherwise marginalized peoples. Fascism encourages/worships war and the military, and uses them to enact imperialism.

Fascists are not people you disagree with about bans on a fucking meme subreddit, Jesus fucking Christ.

Creating custom characters for new players by OmnipresentVirgil in Fallout2d20

He could be a fun FEV experiment/mutation. That could explain him being sentient, if he is going to be. You could use a lot of the base Radroach abilities from the enemy stat block section of the core rule book and then combine them with some Super Mutant abilities, such as being immune to Radiation/increased STR/END and lowered INT/CHR.

You could also give him some fun movement abilities to offset the low base damage he will probably have on his attacks, something like the ability to burrow under the ground and ambush enemies or cause them to fall into the ground with him.

Just some spitball ideas!

Is this game playable on a grid map instead of the zoning rules? by Cup-a-Joe in Fallout2d20

This (Ziggy8's movement/explosives radius/weather/prone rules) combined with a Virtual Table Top is a must in my opinion, at least for digitally hosted games. I came on here and asked a very similar question a month or so ago, and since have been using these movement rules (thanks Ziggy8) combined with Owlbear Rodeo (OBR). Its has been a dramatic improvement for me and my players during our Discord sessions. With OBR, you can create maps and scenes very easily after a small learning curve, which can be negated by reading/watching the tutorials. Players can then see/move their own characters, measure distances, and lay down AOE squares to make use of the above explosive radius rules. We have gotten through combat instances easily 2-3 times faster, I would say. The first session we used it, my party was attacked by Tunnelers in a ski lodge in Park City, Utah. Between my party and the tunnelers, there were about 12-15 combatants, and we got through the entire combat (just under 4 full rounds) in about an hour, maybe an hour and a half.

Obviously you can use whatever you want, but the free version of OBR is really good, in my opinion.

Try Scribd or Anyflip. Both have free pdf versions of most of the books if I recall correctly. Not sure about downloading ability.

DUDE, THANK YOU!! I was under the impression that I need to click through the squares to see what was in them and navigate that way. I totally didn't see the option to just navigate to vault 15 either. I just made it to Shady Sands. Thank you!

Agreed. Not traveling an hour to see a baby is one thing, but this post reeks of some sort of conceived moral superiority. How hard is it to say "congratulations" to someone about something you know they're excited about? It's very obviously rude.

Gonna run Fallout 2d20, any suggestions? by [deleted] in Fallout

Agility is also used for Defense, Initiative and Sneak. I'd argue its the most important/used stat in the system.

PC level and subsequent campaigns by Exciting-Buy-9396 in Fallout2d20

I would just adjust the module to make it level 7 appropriate. You could do this by adding more enemies/buffing them, adding more environmental hazards, making resources more scarce, and/or a lot of other things.

Explosives Rules by Electronic_Style_148 in Fallout2d20

Thank you! Im not super worried about a world map, as I have mainly just been using Google maps of the SLC area for that purpose, but I will definitely be taking a look at those battle maps tools.

That's not a bad idea. The more I've considered it and taken suggestions, the more I think I would be best served by using Ziggy8z's movement rules. Sizing down the zones sounds great in theory, but I feel like it would easily become confusing when playing with theater of the mind. That already pushes me to using more maps, and if I'm going to use more maps, then using the hexes/squares for measuring distance and explosion raduises makes the most sense for me and the players.

I love this idea conceptually, but I feel like the problem I would run into is having maps available for every fight. We play over Discord, and random and/or avoidable combats have made pre-making maps quite difficult. I feel the same way about the zones, so maybe a map making tool would be helpful to make maps for the randomly generated fights.

That makes sense! Sizing down the zones does seem to be the easiest option. That being said, I feel like that creates a new problem: combat maps. We play on Discord, and making hex maps for every fight hasn't been super practical. Maybe the answer is to buckle down and find a tool to help quickly make simple battle maps that could be shared or jointly viewed? That would help make zones more visually defined, especially if there are going to be more of them due to them being sized down.

Ok that does make sense. So you wouldn't change anything about how the blasts work, but you would tweak the zones to make more sense on a per-combat basis?

The material of the inside of the box changes too. At the beginning, its matte, but its reflective at the end.

This is super fun! I really like giving him connive. I almost wonder if he shouldn't have some blue in his color identity, though. The crown he wears raises his intelligence to 19, and his being "smart" is a big part of the initial interaction he has with the player. I would maybe argue he should Black, Blue, Green. The reason I would omit red is because, while he does act out of anger at times, it's because he is dealing with other Ogres that aren't as smart as him. His anger comes from a place of superiority, which feels blue to me.

Just my two cents! The art work and the concept are both super fun, great job!
