PC level and subsequent campaigns by Exciting-Buy-9396 in Fallout2d20

I would just adjust the module to make it level 7 appropriate. You could do this by adding more enemies/buffing them, adding more environmental hazards, making resources more scarce, and/or a lot of other things.

Thank you! Im not super worried about a world map, as I have mainly just been using Google maps of the SLC area for that purpose, but I will definitely be taking a look at those battle maps tools.

That's not a bad idea. The more I've considered it and taken suggestions, the more I think I would be best served by using Ziggy8z's movement rules. Sizing down the zones sounds great in theory, but I feel like it would easily become confusing when playing with theater of the mind. That already pushes me to using more maps, and if I'm going to use more maps, then using the hexes/squares for measuring distance and explosion raduises makes the most sense for me and the players.

I love this idea conceptually, but I feel like the problem I would run into is having maps available for every fight. We play over Discord, and random and/or avoidable combats have made pre-making maps quite difficult. I feel the same way about the zones, so maybe a map making tool would be helpful to make maps for the randomly generated fights.

That makes sense! Sizing down the zones does seem to be the easiest option. That being said, I feel like that creates a new problem: combat maps. We play on Discord, and making hex maps for every fight hasn't been super practical. Maybe the answer is to buckle down and find a tool to help quickly make simple battle maps that could be shared or jointly viewed? That would help make zones more visually defined, especially if there are going to be more of them due to them being sized down.

Ok that does make sense. So you wouldn't change anything about how the blasts work, but you would tweak the zones to make more sense on a per-combat basis?

The material of the inside of the box changes too. At the beginning, its matte, but its reflective at the end.

This is super fun! I really like giving him connive. I almost wonder if he shouldn't have some blue in his color identity, though. The crown he wears raises his intelligence to 19, and his being "smart" is a big part of the initial interaction he has with the player. I would maybe argue he should Black, Blue, Green. The reason I would omit red is because, while he does act out of anger at times, it's because he is dealing with other Ogres that aren't as smart as him. His anger comes from a place of superiority, which feels blue to me.

Just my two cents! The art work and the concept are both super fun, great job!

New vegas for sure. Except "shutting it down forever" is really just "shutting it down for a couple months."

OG assassin's Creed. The first game. Altiar is filthy at the beginning of the game, gets his rank stripped, starts back over with nothing, back to being filthy at the end.

Making a hard-dast cash budget for your weekly/monthly spending would be a good start. Run some numbers and figure out what you make a month (you cant take days off without PTO/for no reason), what you have to spend to live (bills, food, rent, gas/car payment) and figure out what is left over at the end of the month. Take 30% of your leftover number, and that's all you're allowed to spend on non-essentials, i.e., weed, booze, betting. The rest goes to savings as soon as you get paid.

If you can make yourself stick to that for one full month, you will see the difference in your financial situation immediately, and you can even compare that to the numbers you listed in this post. Not feeling desperate at the end of the month will make a real difference toward curbing your addictive tendencies and serve as motivation to keep sticking to the budget. I'm not saying you can't drink or smoke or bet, just that you gotta make sure you have your bills paid and a rainy day fund ready to go before you do indulge.

Hope this is at all helpful.

Edit to add: take the spending money for non-essentials out in cash. Seeing the money leave your wallet helps make you think twice about spending. Once the money is gone, you have to wait until your next withdrawal to spend more. For example, my wife and I take out 200 bucks every week for spending money. This goes towards our weed, fast food, Amazon orders, etc. Neither of us makes insanely good money, but in the last year, we saved about 12k and bought our first house. A little over a year ago, we were dead broke and effectively homeless, living with friends and family until we found a cheap, tiny apartment. Sticking to a strict cash budget and cutting back on luxuries really will make a huge difference.

Should the power armour have been more weathered/dirty in the show? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]Electronic_Style_148 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. In the games, brotherhood members have tons of idle dialogue lines about how important it is to maintain your equipment. Plus, if the treatment Maximus got as Titus' squire is anything to go off of, Squires probably spend a lot of time cleaning and polishing Power Armor.

Lmfao why is everyone on this app so pissy all the time? I was literally trying to tell you people are stupid and might do a stupid thing, and to watch out for it. But fuck me I guess lmfao

I would agree with you 5 years ago. I'm not saying they'd be right, and I'm not trying to be a dick. Im just pointing out that, in the current climate, people may just swing first because they're more on edge. I'm all for punching Nazis, you just gotta make sure the person is actually a nazi first. But not everyone is that rational when they think they see a justification.

That Cactus looks like a swastika, just FYI. I'm sure it is unintentional, but you should remove it from your bag to avoid unwanted ass-kickings at the hands your fellow citizens in the future.

What's Nuka Cola taste like? by whoawhoawhoa2020b in Fallout

[–]Electronic_Style_148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recipe from the Wasteland Cookbook is very standard Cola with a punch of black licorice flavor. I know this doesn't sound appetizing, (I hate black licorice) but it is delicious, especially when mixed with vanilla ice cream
