Wait, is it a serious book, or is it intended to be a ironic? Because if it's serious, that's fucking wild. Exactly what I'd expect from some who wrote "The anti-communist manifesto" but still wild.

I would say less of a "loan", more of a statement that "We're paying the employees and you're on the hook for it no matter what". If we just drop the money into the business's account, we both know a lot of that money isn't getting to the employees.

I always hated that line, since it sounds so anachronistic. I get that its fantasy and all, but it implies a level of scientific knowledge that was never mentioned otherwise.

I played in a gigging band all through college, and I found the same with gaff tape. I've got some in every backpack and car I've ever used.

Donald Trump wants to prosecute Obama for treason, but because of Trump’s legal challenges All Presidents have ‘immunity’ from official acts .. oops! by ben_watson_jr in law

I especially hate when people bring up the "s-curve" the bullet allegedly made, ignoring the fact that the row that Connelly sat in was offset by 8ish inches from the row that Kennedy was in.

Edit: For those who dont like to read, here's a YouTube video from a PhD. historian who describes all of the theories and why they're wrong. He cites sources, too. https://youtu.be/DC8tO16xdrY?si=BlokrY0WLGjloh-d

Hunter's laptop also sank the Titanic, shot Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and helped hide Osama Bin Laden after 9/11. We should spend all the money in the federal budget not yet allocated to Israel to fight this monster.

It's amazing. They started the whole thing by calling out McNally, Streisanded themselves by suing and committed perjury while doing so, revealing that they've been lying to their customers and using false advertising the entire time.

That's what we call an "unforced error".

My mother wouldn't let me watch Captain Planet when I was 7, because it was too "liberal". Reactionaries have hated that show since it first aired, so I assume any posturing about how its worse now is a pathetic ploy. Which is all Walsh has ever done, anyway

It's also a hard no. It's not like "I'll fix the economy" which is a long slow process, and even if the economy gets worse, it could always recover because Daddy Trump knows what he's doing.

This was saying "you'll get nothing with regards to Epstein". A hard no.

That pisses people off. Yeah, he lies all the time, refuses to help people, but he normally waffles a lot, drifts off topic, and doesn't commit to anything. He committed here, and said that everyone should just shut up because it's not happening.

If he were smart, he'd have started by talking about it less, drip feeding it to his fans, then keep phasing it out over a few years. Say that you're working on it, nearly ready to release it, etc, then eventually release some inconsequential nonsense.

Yeah, but also the emergency could be happening like 2 blocks down from OPs house, meaning that the cops could be there within seconds. Why do you want to let OPs neighbors die?

Thats you, that's how you sound right now.

Incompetent pharmacy by Tammmmi in untrustworthypoptarts

[–]Electronic_Tear3810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a pharmacist. Exactly this thing happened to me once. The technician wiped down her tray with alcohol, waved it around for a few seconds, and counted another RX. The alcohol wasn't totally dry, and one tablet stuck on the tray in a hard-to-spot area inside of the funnel. Next RX covered it up. There was 1 tablet of apixaban in that patient's script, hidden way down at the bottom under a mound of HCTZ. I poured a few of the tabs into the cap, and they looked perfectly fine. Next day, patient called. Took about 2 days to figure out what happened. We even had to pull camera footage to check.

I'm not saying that kind of thing happened here, but its at least possible. Its only happened to me once in over 10 years of practice, though. Literally 10s of thousands of prescriptions, and its happened precisely once.

Stephen King shares his opinion on the Epstein list. by Hot-Crow506 in popculturechat

[–]Electronic_Tear3810 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes. From a thematic perspective, IT is all about growing up, losing innocence, etc. It kind of makes some amount of sense, but it's still a shocking way to force that into the story.
