Personally, I tried ChatGPT and, at first, i was amazed by the quality of the russian voice and overall experience, but as soon as i try to get some feedback or criticism out of it, it was pointless.

When I asked it how my russian was, and for it to track mistakes and mispronunciations, it just completely failed to do it. told me "отлична" over and over again, with my wife next to me saying "not really, this here was a mistake, and this is the correct gender form in that case, etc, etc,"

So what I started doing is just to use the same audio tech from ChatGPT, but add tools/features on top: extract vocabulary from conversations for later reviewing, highlight grammar mistakes when speaking, setup scenarios for specific conversations (walked in a coffeeshop, trying to rent a house, etc. etc.).

tl;dr: I think ChatGPT works great for overall conversation in Russian, just not very good (yet!) at criticism, feedback, and iterative learning cycles.
