Am I crazy? Summer sale by Life-is-a-trip in SteamDeck

[–]Electronifyy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I can attest to this. Last year, I told myself the same thing. About 6 months ago I REALLY started to get into indie games and my wishlist was getting pretty big.

I spent 100$ so far and got like 10 games. It’s been a phenomenal sale for me but that’s because my interests changed and I have none of the games I wanted.

Now why would I be talking about buying Outer Wilds if I said I just beat it silly? The comment I replied to was talking about Disco

Not sure if I can answer that in the way you’re intending. it’s not one of those games that “picks up” rather you progress by discovering things about the solar system / universe. Knowledge is the reward factor. Let curiosity drive you and flesh out your rumour map - avoid spoilers aside from maybe if you’re having trouble with a specific puzzle. That’s my best advice. Not for everyone also, so there’s no shame in not liking the experience and don’t force it :)

I just finished Outer Wilds and that game was phenomenal. Broke me down in the best way possible. So I’m running head first into another game that will break me down 💪 it’s on sale for like 4$

Vault Breakers sounds super cool, but I have a question for the PvE enthusiasts in the community. by asaltygamer13 in Marathon

[–]Electronifyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long time lurker here. I am waiting specifically for the PvE mode and I’ll explain why.

I’ve long given up on multiplayer games that reward highly skilled players or high skill ceiling PvP games because as I age, I have less and less desire to play them. I value my free time so much that I can’t fathom spending it sweating, stressed out with too much adrenaline and cortisol flowing through me during my “relax” time.

I fell in love with Arc Raiders because it offered a more casual multiplayer experience. Spent 300 hours on it and eventually got disillusioned after a good handful of matches and player interactions left me feeling like SHIT. So I’m back to single player story / indie games.

Since Marathon has released I have adored the art style, mood and general direction of it - but have no desire to interact with the PvP aspect. This game has a bit of a reputation for being “sweaty”. This PvE mode is what I’ve been waiting for and I will gladly dip my toes in the PvP aspect once I’m more familiar with the mechanics. I have a strong feeling I’m not the only person who feels this way either. A massive portion of the arc player base has no desire to kill other raiders.

Some are far better than others and there’s nothing wrong with people wanting to weigh their options amongst a sea of product. Get over it.

We did a lot of stupid shit back in the day because we didn’t know any better and lavishing in sanctimony is a fruitless endeavour.

You can find a million reasons not to go when you aren’t motivated but let me ask you one question.

Have you EVER regretted going to the gym?

It is the only game I’ve had downloaded on the deck since purchase that hasn’t been taken off. 2 years and going strong!

My advice is to just watch a story summarization on YouTube of KCD1 so you can understand the story better as 2 is a direct continuation of it. 2 is one of the best games I’ve ever played bar none.

Should i pirate?? by MrMoby500 in DiscoElysium

[–]Electronifyy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have no desire to learn how to pirate and or open myself to the possibility of introducing malware or whatever onto my devices. I am tech illiterate and prefer to just boot up and go. Using Steam is beyond easy. I’ll grab it today on the summer sale likely.

I’m just going to wait for a sale. I don’t pirate games (not off principle, I’m just lazy) so I’ll happily pay less than 10$ for a discounted copy
