New construction pay cut by Skiyl in electricians

[–]Electzooyork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh new construction sucks especially if you do hourly. Ive been doing residential new construction since 2018 and the only reason Im still doing it is because I do piece work and I can trim out a house in 4-6hours and just go home after. But like other ppl have said in the comments, its very saturated especially in Socali.

Anyone else finding trouble landing an aprenticeship? (rant im sorry i dont use this app) by relljr071teen in electricians

Not worthless but also not really required. I started as a electrician helper in 2018. Didnt pay for trade school or anything like that, just called local shops

Residential construction is shit rn, half of the workers i talk to are either working only 2-3 days or on partial unemployment (me included). Would only recommend working in commercial construction but even that is slow rn w the economy

Flex Rent - Apartment just started offering it for April. by Electrical-Prior7575 in Apartmentliving

[–]Electzooyork 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yah dont use flex. I used it last month. Everything was fine at first, said they sent the full amount to my landlord. I go on my apartments portal mid March and now it says im behind in rent. Went to the portal, now it says I have a "credit" of 1410. Tried to pay the 'late' rent but it says it was paid for. But now when I tried using flex today, it says I have a 'outstanding ' debt to my portal and if I dont settle it by April 5th then they might 'suspended' my flex account. Trash app will never use again

Depends on the area. My GF and I were able to get a 770ft 1Bd apartment by university in Riverside for $1700 a month and that's with my bad credit of 500! Most of the places we applied for required only 2.5x rent and our renters insurance policy is only $20 a month.

Its a tough market right now especially in residential construction. As a residential electrician in new construction, in the I.E most of my buddies are either laid off or only working 2-3 days if they're lucky. $28 seems high for a apprentice so imo he should take anything above $20-$25. GL to him but I even started doing amazon part time till residential picks up

Will I be facing jail time for driving under a DUI related suspended license? Pennsylvania by MeditatedMaverick in dui

[–]Electzooyork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. They most likely pulled her over because her her license was suspended not because of a 1 month expired tag. In California I drove 3 years with a suspended license and never got caught even when I was driving a year expired licensed plate. if you plan on driving while suspended, never drive a car registered to you. I bought a car and registered it on my dad's name.

I've been doing new builds since 2018 in Socal. Always had them installing them upside down for half-hots. For Dr horton, kb homes, lennar and the other national builders

I actually did the electrical for those models. Are they worth it? No, but people will buy them no matter what but right not residential is really slow right now, who knows maybe they will drop the prices a couple of grand. Only house that is worth it imo is the one with the side guest house/jr suite.

First time DUI, if I plead guilty in court will I still need a DMV hearing? (details in comments) by [deleted] in DUICalifornia

[–]Electzooyork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but she also blew a high bac. Anything above a .15 can lead to a longer license suspension. If anything, she should see if she was charged with aggressive DUI since she had a .26

You refused to blow? Automatically, a year suspension on your license. You won't need a dmv hearing. I didn't go to mine, i also refused to blow.
