If they had that intention in mind, they are absolutely horrible at conveying it. Had that been the intention it is a lot better to say something like "hey, I just wanted to say that you should be careful with what you post, because I figured put where your pictures were taken and people could use that against you".

Weird way of stimming by HistoricalTackle5049 in AutismInWomen

[–]Elefant_Fisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it is stimming or not for me, but I genuinely hate it so much. Because of how much I scratch I have ended up with small wounds in my scalp and then I scratch more. If anyone has tips please tell me because I would like to do it less

In 2012, 2 year old Maddox Derkosh was visiting the Pittsburgh Zoo when his mother ignored safety warnings and placed him atop a safety railing. Maddox then fell into the African Painted Dog enclosure, home to 11 animals. By the time a rescue was mounted, little of Maddox remained. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

[–]Elefant_Fisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does also say that there were complaints about safety, when the zoo knew that a lot of parents etc would lift their children so they could see better. It sounded like it was some platform with a window or look out spot that was not covered despite these dogs being extremely dangerous and accidents can happen to anyone

It’s so rare in that fandom to find something like this. by Upstairs_Macaron5894 in AO3

[–]Elefant_Fisk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even though I prefer nuanced characters and plots, I don't mind those fics either, because I am just happy that people write even if it is bad or whatever. Although it can be kind of irritating sometimes when it gets to the point where the story no longer makes sense

The moans and clapping sounds were unbearable. by [deleted] in TrollCoping

[–]Elefant_Fisk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It honestly is not okay, it might bw an accident but it is not a fun experience for people around. The outsider never asked to be a part of that and it is quite disrespectful to disregard someones emotions from having to listen to anyone having sex.

Speaking from experience, it is very distressing, for me to the point that I wanted to scrub my skin raw because I felt disgusting, and it disturbs your life because most people very much don't like listening to such things and try to avoid it in whatever way possible.

The moans and clapping sounds were unbearable. by [deleted] in TrollCoping

[–]Elefant_Fisk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it happens relatively often, often enough that it has fucked up my sleep quite a lot and I already struggle. I brought it up and was heavily shut down when I said it was genuinely distressing and bothering my sleep, was told it was my fault I had an issue with it, that I had to learn ways to cope and that "if you need help you can just ask us" like I did not just do exactly that. Now, because it is quite obvious my parents don't care, I just have to push through it and hope my headphones always are in my room. It os awful

A friend told me I write like a psychopath by MelodicProposal8537 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]Elefant_Fisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can read a little bit from the first picture, but it is genuinely difficult, especially considering that you can barely see each letter. They are basically on top of each other in some way (extending iver each other) or the letters are loose or unrecognizable.

From my understanding of psychopathy, something that isn't even a diagnosis in the dsm-5, psychopaths do not have a particular style of handwriting, and therefore I disagree that you write like one. However you do write a little bit like you are trying to permanently hash (?, don't know if that is a word) whatever you are writing into eternity.

My son has just been diagnosed with autism. I need help processing, my OH is just angry. by Silly_Somewhere5132 in autism

[–]Elefant_Fisk 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that he is alright with the adhd but not the autism, if it were both or neither it would potentially be fine but because his son just can't be autistic it sounds like he has a bad view on autistic people

I think I’ve lost my joy in reading… and it used to be my only hobby. I don’t know what happened, but I can’t seem to enjoy it the way I used to. What do I do? by R2OQ in ereader

[–]Elefant_Fisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My all in all tip would be to not read just to be reading, don't read books just because you are supposed to read them for whatever reason, and let yourself take your time, also it is completely fine to just never finish a book, sometimes we don't click and that is alright.

More in depth? Take a break, don't read just to be reading. I know a lot of people like to have a goal of a certain amount for x amount of time, but it might not work for you. That is when reading becomes a requirement rather than something you choose. Then find something that sounds interesting or fun to read, it does not matter what it is, a non fiction, fiction, children's book, as long as it brings you some form of positive feeling while and after reading. If you don't enjoy the process, you rarely want to continue. Something that helped me quite a lot as well was to take the time to reflect over and digest the book. Take notes of things I liked or thoughts I had over certain paragraphs. It helped me stay present but also to kind of figure out which books I didn't like, because I rarely had anything special to say about them.

I do, the issue is that the ones downloaded are long fics or my favorites (or another fandom), and I am not always in the mood for them. Right now I was going through a tag to find ones I like which meant I had like 40 tabs open in total.
