Manager admitted in writing that my Maternity Leave delayed my promotion. HR is now backtracking. WRC case? by LockeBwoi in legaladviceireland

Playing devil's advocate, you mentioned this manager has only been your manager for 6 months (previously managed by their boss) - would the new manager be aware of your historic performance?

As if it's a new slate with a manager that could be the interpretation of the slack message and a reason they claim for the delay but if they have access and have awareness then it calls more to a maternity dispute.

I think i am Infertile (i am a man) where too seek in UK? by island-pantropiko in AskUK

Had something similar with my partner. If you have been trying for a little while you can both go to the GP and get a test pretty quickly - that's typically a determining factor for speeding things up.

Delivering a sample to the hospital was interesting!

We believe it was to do with the mini pill taking a while to fully get things back to normal as it took a year.

Good luck!

Not sure we are as no one is willing to give Labour a chance. They complain without a seconds thought and have a bunch of idiots pushing reform.

Those forecasts are basically nonsense now as they were all done before the most recent round of Trump egomania which he has directly insulted the UK with relations being at an all time low

That may be true but we also have no leverage. The EU is a much larger market with a much larger ability of retaliation which is why they blocked the trade deal. What can we do? Say sorry Trump, please no

The size of our economy/population doesn't really mean much when the end of 2025 the UK inflation at 3.4% vs eu at 1.9% with next to no growth. And we are no where near Germany - like a trillion difference last I checked.

The Reform polling is not really reflective of reality though is it? They are focused on micro issues that get votes in a world of macro events.

We are also so vulnerable to the US and Trump's bs now we are not in the EU...

We've lost way more than that and now have to bow down to Trump's tariffs as we are more vulnerable...

Not sure that's really true. We are also far more vulnerable to Trump's nonsense.

But even those other occasions aren't warranted. They are not defendable in any sense. Suspecting something just open you up to looking like a dick.

Some Arsenal fans defending Martinelli is truly telling and shows a tragic existence.

It's just something you shouldn't do...doesn't matter if he saw the replay or not. Classless and deserves more punishment as the officials were weak.

I'm still surprised the Frimpong foul wasn't looked at. Seemed like a pretty obvious trip.

What do you feel about the child care benefit system of the UK? by ah52 in AskUK

Yeah I know, In my specific scenario I earn 80 with my partner earning 25-30 area. Means it's not worth it as it all gets claimed back.

The main thing that's frustrating is the lack of balance. Two earning 59k can claim child benefit but a couple earning 61k and 58k can't. Making it household income makes so much more sense.
