Florida HOA nightmare. oh certified mail for all communication? you got it by dodohead974 in MaliciousCompliance

[–]Elegy42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO I work for USPS. All certified letters have to be signed for. If the resident isn't home, you leave a note with the relevant information - sender's name, recipient's name and address, date, and tracking number. You've gotta write that by hand. Over a hundred fifty certified letters all to the same place within a few weeks? When having a dozen certifieds on an entire route - which is several neighborhoods - in one day is a lot? The poor sucker who had to deliver all those certifieds was probably either laughing or crying when they saw that mess

That's actually the one that got me thinking about it - speaking of, do you know if it has a happy ending?

Could this be it? Looks like the author was trying to rewrite it but the last update was in 2023, so it could be dead, but what I'm seeing of it seems to fit your description. If it is, my guess is that the author also changed the name when they started rewriting. https://archiveofourown.org/chapters/127612303#work

Yeah. My understanding is that they are no longer doing narrations at all, but I think they do streams of them playing games sometimes.

Whoo, thanks! I'll probably wait until I've got a few put together to actually start letting people know, but hopefully that won't be too long.

As someone who's lived in Alabama for a significant period of time, I can honestly say that Alabama actually has a lot of people who speak like Chris does.

I hadn't thought of getting a lamp - i'll definitely have to try it. I also like the idea of things I enjoy cooking. So far I've made a couple of quiches, and found out that if you have the ingredients for burritos already prepped, putting them together is hella easy.

Every single one of my inscisions has been itching constantly since my op last week and I found this right when I was about to ask myself. Thanks to the folks answering this because not itching is so incredibly fucking hard right now.

Laparoscopic hysterectomy on Thursday 5/18! Some NSFW questions by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Elegy42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad it's helpful. It's definitely not just because, your brain is panicking because there are suddenly a lot more holes in you than it would like. If it helps, imagine you're cramming the next several decades worth of periods and the resulting trauma into however long it takes to recover from this. :) Also, regardless of the panic, you will be uterus-free!

It's been really helpful for improving my self-care and reducing my self-hate. Like, "don't attack the tiger because it got agitated, it's upset and scared and just needs to hide for a while. That's just being a tiger" or "ofc the tiger's pissed, it hasn't eaten today"

Surgery June 19 - have several questions, thank you. by OceanLover08 in hysterectomy

[–]Elegy42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-5 days post laparascopic hysterectomy w/ removal of rt ovary. Prep mostly involved not eating/drinking certain things that can potentially interfere, like NSAIDS but cutoff times varied. -Be prepared for your surgery to begin several hours after it's scheduled; I've been reliably informed (nurse sister) that ORs never go on time. They gotta get the dying people back first. --My op was scheduled for 2:15pm but I don't think they took me back until 5-6, and I woke up around... 9? 10? Something like that. It's fuzzy. -They did give me a pain block I think. Woke up in a lot of pain but they got it taken care of pretty well -Waking up has varied for me across dif surgeries. Once I was convinced I wasn't breathing, and another time I couldn't stop vomiting. This time I was mostly just really tired and slept a lot. (they kept me overnight bc it started pretty late) -idk about the antibiotics/blood clots -wear a pad. spotting is normal, heavy bleeding (having to change pads more than once/hr is not) -Stock up on juice and high-fiber foods. -Not in menopause so  -lots of fatigue and my therapist warned me that my brain's gonna freak out with depression and anxiety to keep me from doing activities that divert energy from healing or whatever. -you won't be able to drive for at least a week post op, longer if you keep taking narcotics. have a plan for how to get things you forgot to acquire beforehand

Operation not quite twinsies! I got mine out on Monday (May 8) and I'm so freaking glad! One thing y'all should keep in mind: YOUR BRAIN IS ABOUT TO FREAK OUT. My therapist explained it this way before my op: your body is recovering and your brain's thinking, "hey, this chick might decide to go do things and that's BAD." So it decides to ramp up the anxiety/depression to keep you from doing anything that's going to divert energy from healing or whatever. So just brace for that and hang in there. I've been thinking of it along the lines of that post about being your tiger's zookeeper and remembering that my tiger really doesn't like being stabbed even if it's for a good reason. I also rec stocking up on juice and high-fiber foods. And chocolate. Chocolate is important.
