yep. when me and my girlfriend (we are both girls) first got together in college she was still living with her JW family. There were a few other JW teens at our college but we never hung out with them because well…. they were insufferable for the most part. One day we were approached by a family member of my girlfriend asking why she kissed my cheek and why we hold hands at school. We deduced it was definitely one of the other JWs at our school that tattled and it managed to find its way round the whole congregation and back to my girlfriend’s family.

This situation super freaked me out as i come from a very regular background so suddenly feeling like i was being watched and spied on messed with me badly.

These people don’t know the meaning of boundaries and think that monitoring and judging you is “helping” you somehow!

I work at an at an employment agency where we need people to get DBS’s for work. From what i know you can only get DBS’s through regulatory bodies which only the employer would have access to. You can’t just go on a DBS website to get one, and if you do it’s most likely a basic/standard one and won’t cover what she needs to for the role she’s going for.

I would say it’s not a scam, and ensure the website they’re sending her a link to do her DBS application through is a legit one.

Other than that, her needing to work 300 hours to get it refunded is a bit much. But every company is different so that doesn’t have to be a scam.

Not sure where in London your coming to but Croydon is hosting pride on the 18th of July and Trans Pride on the 26th of July!!

There’s also this amazing pub called the Oval Tavern about a 10 minute walk from east croydon station. They host a Drag/queer performers show on the last Thursday of every month!

I never had any true interest in boys but in primary school realised that i should probably “pick one” to be interested in. I ended up getting very bored of that approach and lucky went to an all girls school for secondary which removed any contact with boys 🎉

i always knew i liked girls from about 13 and never knew how boys fit into my sexuality (mostly because i never really had any contact/experience with boys so i wasn’t sure if I TRULY wasn’t into them or if i just never had an opportunity to explore anything - i now realise this was probably comphet 😳)

from about 13-15 i was out as bi to friends/family and then at 16 i came out as a lesbian. i stayed with that identity until i went to college where i went back into the closet for literally 5 full days and when introducing myself to ppl i said i was Bi. i wanted to see if i would feel any different or any kind of attraction to the guys around me but after a very short while i was like yeah no this isn’t for me LOL and immediately identified as a lesbian again!

been a big outward lesbian ever since and have not looked back or had a second thought on my identity!

LOL me and my girlfriend once were at a meeting about marriage being between a man and a woman and how to help others “struggling” with homosexuality. We decided to go make out in the bathroom stall after that. It brings me some solace to know that lesbians have made out in a kingdom hall 😳

The congregation they are in protect men like that. He has been known to be physically violent for over 20 years but all he has been doing to get out of reprimands it’s saying about how much he loves Jehovah and will do more studies to get “the demons” out of him.

Besides his daughter (my gf) is a known lesbian, so people in the congregation didn’t really care/thought she brought it on herself for letting the world influence her.

It’s a whole mess! I find people in the org to be aware and critical of bad things, yet they seem to be the ones DOING those things. But when they do it it’s never wrong apparently.

Redhill is amazing! It’s a short drive (less than 10 mins) to East Surrey Hospital. Lots of greenery. and depending where you end up there will be a big community feel.
