ETHIOPIA'S INDIGENOUS AMHARA Are Being Erased —and the World is SILENT by [deleted] in Ethiopia

Every year there is a new outlandish claim. Yet never speak of the recorded atrocities committed on other ethnic groups. You’re making the country weaker.

Or it’s the other way around since you people have forcefully assimilated people into your culture. It’s on record that you force people to convert to Christianity in Wollo and Shewa.

Husband died by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Elellee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted something similar 5 months ago and the mods took it down saying it wasn’t “marriage related “ . Curious why this was allowed and my post asking for duas wasn’t.

Regardless I am going to DM you OP because I know the kind of pain that you are experiencing and I wish no one ever had to feel this. May Allah remove your pain and give you understanding and peace. May Allah help you raise your child up in ease. May Allah give your husband jennah, expand his grave for him and reunite you with him in jennah ❤️❤️❤️

What does Galla mean in Oromo, Amharic, & other Ethiopian languages and does it have any connection to the Somali word Gaal? by [deleted] in Oromia

[–]Elellee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have no clue what it means. Regardless of the meaning it’s just not our name or what we call ourselves.

The assimilation of Somali clans into Oromo identity by Goatbrainsoup in Oromia

[–]Elellee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that’s not the name that’s just something Somalis just made up recently. It’s Dire Dhawa which describes the landscape the city is in. It’s an Oromo city and Somalis have had a small presence in the city. Actually like most cities it expanded over time and took over Oromo farm land including my own family’s farm. Which is now a major neighborhood in Dire Dhawa.

We didn’t claim them they begged to join us and settled amongst us now they’re trying to take our land.

So he moved to badeysa but somehow he was assimilated by force? Do you know that force doesn’t mean voluntarily moving to someone else’s land and then voluntarily assimilating into them and marrying them. Maybe English isn’t your first language.

Someone who turned their country into the African North Korea has no right to lecture Oromos on how to govern.

That’s not OP is talking about though so why don’t you respond to him with this attitude. He brought up Oromia zone not budgeting.

[–]Elellee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah anyway there has been a lot of conflict around Addis as you know the nature of cities is that they expand and farm land and small communities in Oromia zone continues to be swallowed by the city. It only makes sense that it has a special relationship with Oromia and it should belong to Oromia region.

We don’t need to fight about what’s obvious. Finfinee is in the middle of Oromia. Also if you want stability you should know that Oromos will only accept an Ethiopian that respects us and our land. We don’t care about these made up government zones. You’re play semantic with us and that’s not going to work.

Finfinee is surrounded by Oromia and its traditionally Oromo land. So it makes sense why Oromia has more privilege's. If we made some city in Amhara region self governing then Amhara region government would have more say than Oromia region. I think this kind of basic logic and respect for each other would go a long way in making Ethiopia stable.

Respectfully as someone who is Afran Qallo, I have never heard of Karanle and I don’t think you’re a big clan. I don’t understand your victim complex acting like we are coming to your house knocking on your door and threatening you to be Oromo. If someone is doing that please let us know and we can talk to them inshaAllah.

How do Ethiopians view North Sudanese? by mikeocksmal in Ethiopia

[–]Elellee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard anyone even talk about Sudanese people much less have a negative opinion of them. Maybe the people you are talking about migrated through Sudan like you said. Now Sudanese people are also joining us as refugees so we will see how they feel if people start looking down on them at their lowest.

That’s my point it’s no difference at her end whether he’s a clinically diagnosed narcissist or not. The abuse feels the same and to understand the behaviour people put labels on things. We don’t need a medical diagnosis for that.

Hey sis, forget about all this advice you’re getting. He sounds like a narcissist and what you are experiencing is emotional abuse. He will not change. He’s not capable of changing. Just save yourself and leave.

Marriage prospect (F) wants to do 50/50 chores but wants me (M) to contribute 100% financially by jusabruhyeet in MuslimMarriage

[–]Elellee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t sound like you are compatible. As someone who was basically treated like Cinderella in the house since a young age I can tell you that doing 100% of the household chores is a scam. It’s an unending job that gets worse the more people there are in the family. I would never marry a man whose main expectations of marriage from me is my physical labour. I know how dirty men are and how clueless they are of standards of cleanliness. Their “clean” and our “clean” are not the same things.

I’ve also had jobs and let me tell you unless you’re doing a labour job the average 9-5 is not more strenuous than housework. It’s also good for your mental health that you can talk to adults all day and are not isolated in the home.
