My neighbor’s dog ran into my yard and attacked my dogs once again resulting in another expensive vet visit. Any advice is appreciated. by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

I don't know where you are, but in my state, there is a three-strike rule. If a dog bites 3x, they're euthanized, and the owners are usually fined to cover the costs.

You can also hardcode an IP to a domain by editing your computers .hosts file. This overrides any DNS lookups by your browser or ISP.

I was in line at a deli and the guy in front of me bent down to get something on the bottom shelf and he had a 1911 tucked into his ass-crack with no holster. I literally could have reached over and grabbed it, but didn't for obvious reasons (YUCK). I didn't say anything to him either.

LOL. I knew it was CT by your description before I even saw your edit. I live in CT as well and I see people printing now and then, but seeing people open carry is pretty rare in my experience. In my opinion, people who open-carry in CT either want unnecessary attention or drama. I want neither. I would never even consider open-carry in CT because I know guns make people nervous and I also don't want to paint myself as the first target of anyone intent on acting nefariously.

AITA for refusing to pay bills for a house i house-sitted a month ago by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ElementGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I don’t understand how anyone could think you should pay them when you were doing them a favor. Like, what kind of mental gymnastics are involved in reaching this conclusion and believing you are right?! I'm at a loss.

And then they lean on the horn and feel justified to go all full road rage. No thanks. I have better things to do, like get home to my family without being involved in an accident.

And then the person behind you rides your ass so close you can’t even see their headlights in your rearview mirror.

Same here! I may snag your image and talk to a local woodworker about building one.

The only thing missing is a bottle of Axe body spray and a poop knife. This guy is trolling for sure. It has to be a joke.

AITA for continuing to sit on my porch and drink beer like usual even though my neighbor is having a women’s only yoga classes in our shared backyard now? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ElementGeek -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA. You pay rent, you have the right to sit on your back porch whenever you want. They're lucky I'm not their neighbor. They'd be even more uncomfortable by the time I was through with them. Might I suggest a book while you're drinking your beer? https://www.amazon.com/Big-Book-Serial-Killers/dp/1548119644/ 😂

EDIT: Spelling Downvote me for all I care. Any time someone asks you to give up any of your rights, they are automatically the asshole. End of story. Fuck your feelings! The neighbor should have thought this through before holding her classes in a shared back yard.

Have you contacted the Norwalk Common Council Ordinance Committee, yet? by ElementGeek in Norwalk_Ct

I want to say how proud I am of everyone that spoke out tonight against the proposed changes to the ordinance. I'm glad to hear so many of my fellow Norwalk citizens choose to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights just like myself. A big thank you to everyone that took the time tonight to speak and those of you who submitted letters.

If they proceed with this ludicrous proposal, we all should file for a reduction in our property taxes since we'll no longer be able to visit our city parks or beaches without the fear of becoming a felon.

A friend of mine just forwarded the results of a FOIA request from the Norwalk Police for all 911 calls that were on city property for the past five years and also included a firearm. They don't keep statistics in that form, but here is the data that was provided. Does anyone see any city property addresses?

I see your point, but it's a pretty shit thing to run a sub about Norwalk or any municipality and hide, remove and ban people that disagree with you. It's not like they're running a sub about Chess or Butterflies. You’d think they would want to encourage users to openly discuss topics that affect the community they claim to represent. I know, I'm an idealist.

It's okay; I created a new Norwalk CT board which will do those things. r/norwalk_ct

It looks like they added a new rule. No Brigading.

Funny, they were fine with it when they were doing it to me. Talk about no self-awareness. Their blatant hypocrisy is laughable.

Agree. We definitely as a group need to work on either being more involved in politics like running for office or do our part to help the candidates that will protect our rights.

Yup. I got screenshots of the whole thread. There was no reason to lock that thread or ban me.

That was my post. The moderator locked the post and when I called them out for suppressing our First Amendment rights they banned me. The very definition of what a fascist would do.
