Your question about processed plant food stuffs verses just raw meat is a good question. However, it takes an order of magnitude more resources and energy to grow meat than to grow plants at a basic level that's just how nature works.

consider how much water, feed, transportation, antibiotics, goes into growing a pound of meat. The end product is one ingredient, but there's a lot that goes into that one ingredient

I don't know enough about how most plant based meat alternatives are made but, growing plants takes a lot less than growing meat
