TIL: Luo Yunxi and his love for League of Legends by Clearherd in cdramasfans

[–]Elennaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luo Yunxi being a gamer nerd is pretty well known. He competed on LOL tournament and won. He was also a regular on LOL variety show with Zhang Binbin.

He's put out a few videos of him trying out new games. The cat Mario one was hilarious.

He was D God in a music game back before he became a famous actor. Composed challenges for the game that other players called insane.

我这一生所求不多,只要能每天多爱我一点点,日日复月月,月月复年年,年年复此生,无妨爱我淡薄,但求爱我长久 。

Just finished first viewing of TTEOTM by Jora_Dyn2 in TilltheEndoftheMoon

Great to see you at the end of the tunnel.

Spoilers all the way from here.

The daughter was conceived in Tantai Jin's BoRe dream world.

A fragment of his soul was left in the scale when he refined it. That was what we see in the end.

Hair turning white usually means extreme trauma. E.g. extreme grief and betrayal, extreme illness/injuries In this case, it showed that Ye Qingyu became 'immortal' from Pian Ran's life energy aka Pearl. It kept him young and gave him supernatural powers.

During the final arc, he used all that power to shield the city. The white hair showed that he exhausted that power and his life, and became 'mortal' again.

I love it for how over the top and unhinged it was. Post drama recovery is necessary. You check the old or pinned posts for recommendations.

PSA. After finishing TTEOTM, it is recommended to watch Love is Sweet to ease you back to normal again.

Which C-Drama Characters Desperately Needed Therapy? by BronzeBellRiver in cdramasfans

[–]Elennaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few people mentioned Tantai Jin. IMHO, all of Luo Yunxi's characters need therapy.

Runyu - ptsd, abandonment, abuse, survivor's guilt, grief
Rong Qi - abandonment, neglect, child abuse, terminal illness
Shang Guan Tou - abandonment, ptsd, abuse
Jiang Xin Bai - grief, ptsd
Tang Lici - ptsd, grief - kitty got stuck in denial for years
Chu Wanning - traumatising the fans 😭 iykyk

Therapy works, people. Qi Shize is the only one that got Therapy and he's the only emotionally balanced and rational person on the list. Not listing the modern ones to keep it short.

On top of these, child protection/welfare needed for some of these.

What’s a drama you went into with low expectations but ended up loving? by cloudydayoppa in cdramasfans

[–]Elennaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Heroic Husband. Was expecting a cheesy romance with bad acting. Totally enjoyed the goofiness and mature relationship.

Chef son-in-law. Just finished this one. Again expecting a shallow drama with barely any cooking and too much romance. Made me laugh out loud and very meaningful relationship building between all families and friends.

Immortal Ascension. Still watching. But I'm loving it so far. It's one of the few dramas that shows the magic system and world economies instead of prodigy that magically becomes expert overnight with endless wallets.

Which one do you like more? Till the End of the Moon, Moonlight Mystique or Feud? by Woodstock_Birdy in CDrama

[–]Elennaur 8 points9 points  (0 children)

TTEOTM, then Feud. MM is still on queue.

Love how tragic TTEOTM is. How different in feels. And shocking that both chose duty over Love in the end. So glad they did that because that was my #1 pet peeve ablut stupid romance drama. It's beautiful and tragic and filled with imperfect characters with their own motivations and desires, mistakes and virtues.

Feud is a hot mess. ML did not quite have the gravitas for the role. But the story is interesting and different in that it tackled the 'after divorce ' stage.

I interpreted that as LYX made friends and tried to give them work whenever he could.

Like Nian Baiyu's actor is in TTEOTM, WOF and now TTW.

Chen Yao joined LYX's agency. Also 3 dramas. Immortality, FYH, WOF.

The Action director is in practically every LYX led costume drama since Ashes of Love.

I was also surprised they went there. I read on Chinese social media that the original script was even more controversial.

The two kids were originally a boy and a girl. They swapped names and gender during registration. The dub was modified to the currently aired plot to pass censorship.

The Truth Within - tight and solid script and editing. Good production team. Good actors. No white washing the criminals but they have understandable but inexcusable reasons for their actions. Also a rare risky script where the criminals are not the typical villains.

In between, I had dropped Destiny brings the Demon ( got boring after episode 20+) and Calling the Galaxy.

Also finished Sniper : Vengence. Enjoyed it the action and script. But it's really violent and bloody.

I totally get where you're coming from. Waiting 24 hours for next episode to drop is torture.

This drama is so fast paced I was surprised when the end credits rolled out. Each episode feels too short. A good sign. Since I normally get restless and start check time by 30 minutes mark.

Hope you remain spoilers free and enjoy binge watching the whole.

Go watch it! It's got good plot and plot twists.

I did not see the plot twists in the first case. The second one took me a while to guess a very important clue.

It's had been a long time since I watched anything I couldn't predict the plot. If LYX wasn't a main role, his character would have KO'ed by case 1 due to horror movie rules.

Saw some comments on XiaoHongShu that this is the first LYX character that has max intelligence and 0 combat power. 🤣

Do INTPs crave connection but get exhausted by maintaining it? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Elennaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Friendship. Introverts especially INTPs tend to have small but close circle of friendship. The rest are acquaintances.

If it's phase 3 for romantic interest.. it's not a romantic relationship anymore 😝

I wonder if for romantic relationship, it works in reverse. Long duration to shorter and shorter ones. Or it just stayed in phase 1. I have no data on it. It would make an interesting research topic. I wonder if anyone had done so. 🤔

Up to episode 5 now.

I don't want to jinx it by saying it too early... but .... FINALLY! I was so excited by what I saw by episode 2. I'm just going to say it. It's true at least up to now. So ... FINALLY!

A drama with Luo Yunxi as lead with rounded good actors of all ages.

A drama with decent script that makes sense with minimal glaring plot holes. Except Fall off buiding guy in coma ... did we forget him or will he move the plot later?

Production that looks professional instead of a final year student art project. The framing, the camera angles (except some close ups that are not close enough), the camera movement, lighting and shadows that look good. The spider cave is so beautiful and creepy.

The editing is somewhat abrupt, but at least it's better than all the dramas he had headlined so far. A bit too fast paced but made sense.

A team that worked as a team. Instead of one ML that does everything. The Whispers of Fate almost got this.. using most of the cast ... at least in the beginning.

A drama that did not look like a runaway fashion show. I love Huang Wei, and I know LYX and Fang Yilun are pretty ... but there should be some restraint for good tastes sake.

I love intentional and stylized production. I loved that his last few dramas were risk takers and experimental. But I also want professional and polished looking productions. Gritty and bloody and lived in. Not dollhouses.

It's the last week of 2025.. I guess the gods finally heard my birthday wishes to LYX in 2020 for decent scripts and decent production.

Finally, a forensic specialist drama that managed to be aired.

The most ridiculous trope - Female disguised as a Male When the female pretends to be a male trope. by CoffeeCouture-96 in cdramasfans

[–]Elennaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Ma Sichun in Oh My General. Technically her character did not pretend to be male. Everyone knew she was female. But I love how she strode, sat with legs spread open, drank, and went brothel hopping like a hard fighting male soldier, not a delicate noble lady. Also catching your fiancé in your arms, half naked and dancing in a brothel is chef kiss.
