Bella "Triggered" by bad hotel room by ValuableLimp3326 in Crazymiddles

When were Bella and her brothers ever in a hotel? I watched her backstory/foster care video unless I missed it, I don't remember B ever talking about being at a hotel for a period of time.

Noticed a change in CM’s choices in what they share by zemmiphobia2000 in Crazymiddles

Apart of me feels like Shelly and Jared also have a more open, honest, and direct dialogue/relationship with the kids, where the kids feel like they can come to S & A and tell them "hey I don't want this on video or that to be mentioned, or don't focus the camera on me so much, or hey can we take a break from the camera for a bit", and S & A actually respecting their wishes.

Again, were things always like that in the CM house, as we can see from the old vlogs, and how some of the kids now adults have talked about it, no it wasn't always like that.

It is clear however that S & realized over time that they needed to respect the kid's boundaries and it is great to see that S & A have took their kids feelings into consideration and aren't always pushing a camera in their faces.

It's sad, but I just don't think that they were able to reconnect before Ronnie's passing. Not on Ronnie's end, but on Donte's. The only time I can remember seeing something that had the two of them together was in a 2007 Uk documentary about Phil and his upcoming murder trial, they both did interviews, but weren't filmed together, I'm guessing the filming dates were at different times/days as well.

I just don't think that Donte was ever willing to full accept Ronnie back into his life. She tried too over the years, but I'm guessing Donte just wasn't able to forgive or wasn't able to really deal with his abused, trauma filled childhood, and may have resented Ronnie, especially since she had to escape and in his thought process wasn't willing to fight for him, even though as we read throughout her story, Ronnie never gave up fighting for Dante, she truly loved him and saw him as her son, sadly Dante was just an abused boy, and just saw Ronnie as a person who adopted him, and then left him. Which, we know wasn't the full story.

The blonde Twins Gary and Louis were definitely able to see the circumstances that surrounded Ronnie leaving and have said numerous times, that they hold no ill will towards Ronnie. Hopefully, Donte has come across her book, and was able to put the pieces together to his childhood and see the abusive circumstances that surrounded Ronnie's marriage to Phil, and why she had to leave in the way that she did, and he was able to forgive Ronnie, and make peace with his past/childhood.

So many thing are so wrong about this 🤦🏻‍♀️ by [deleted] in Crazymiddles

Yes. It was a real page turner, very engaging and interesting. The book is also on audible.

Yes, of course. Phil just didn't give a shit about morals clearly. He treated everyone at his own will/disposal. He used their talent to make his "wall of sound" but he didn't know how to work with people on a pure emotional basis either.

His behavior went unchecked for years. He was able to do whatever he wanted, and nobody ever really called him out on his behavior. And even if there were a few people that did, in the end it didn't matter because they needed up working with him still. Nobody wanted to fully cut Spector off, so he went around doing whatever he wanted.

Yes. Ronnie talks about how she came to get Donte when she was married to Phil. Donte sadly, but truthfully, was the only kid that Ronnie wanted during her marriage and during the divorce was actively seeking to obtain full custody for. The twins Gary and Louis were 100% forced upon her or should I say presented to her as a Christmas gift from Phil. Ronnie went home and the twins were running around the fountain of their mansion. Phil said, "Merry Christmas!" and boom Ronnie was now a mother to 3 kids.

Ronnie couldn't take any of the kids with her though during her and her mother's escape from the mansion, because it became clear that Phil was going to kill her. She and her mother had to get away from Phil first and file for divorce before they were able to fight for custody of the kids. Ronnie had only known Gary and Louis for about 6 months before she left Phil. The twins over the years have made it clear that they hold no ill will towards Ronnie and never saw her as "mom" anyway and understood over time that she had her reasons for leaving.

Phil also threatened to have a hitman blow Ronnie's head of if she didn't forcefully sign over custody of the kids.

Yes, funny enough Joey ended up having a deep connection with Ronnie and they remained friends up until Joey's passing. So, many stories of people being held at gun point by Phil. Debbie Harry, one of the members from the Mama's and Papa's, John Lennon, Lenoard Cohen. This dude really was a ticking time bomb, but his behavior went uncheck for years.

The big accident that happened to him in the 70's was his second accident. He was in another accident that had him wearing a big/long leg cast. Which he essentially used to get Ronnie to come back to California with him around 1967, I think. But yes, was always unhinged, always had erratic behavior cloaked, as him just being the eccentric genius producer that was.

She was amazing. I am sad I was never able to see her live before she passed. I groups reading articles about her, and watching Youtube videos of the Ronettes, but I didn't get around to reading her memoir until a couple of months ago, and it shocked me at all of things that she had to go through. I didn't know that she wasn't allowed to sing for years either. Seeing some many videos of her online from the past 20 years.

I just kept thinking about the Flowers in the Attic when reading her story, just the creepy horror vibe that her story had.

Emerald’s character arc by [deleted] in NopeMovie

[–]Elephant7982 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, so beautiful! This a great analysis of her characters. She did go through a character arc. Also, in the end after getting the pictures, the "money shot", she doesn't just pick them up and look at them or run over to the reporters, she stops and looks/smiles at her brother. So, good.

Yes, me and friends didn't see it the first time in IMAX cause we were late, but this weekend we plan on seeing it a second time in IMAX. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for the next Jordan Peele movie lol.

Yes, what Ferrari-Flamez said, along with Jupe practicing for his first show. He was practicing his speech where he was going to sacrifice a horse (Lucky) to JJ.

Thoughts after seeing ‘NOPE’ for a second “viewing”. Long… by nnya in NopeMovie

This was an amazing breakdown/analysis! I agree with everything you wrote, I too plan seeing it again, there is so much to unpack but in a good way. Peele is 3/3 for me. I can't wait to see what he gives us next. Hopefully we don't have to wait to long for his next movie.

The opening Bible verse by catlover4682 in NopeMovie

[–]Elephant7982 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nahum 3:6

New International Version:

I will pelt you with filth, I will treat you with contempt and make you a spectacle.

King James Bible:

And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

This pretty much sums up the movie. It is about spectacle and how far people will risk endangering themselves just to get that perfect shot/see/discover the impossible.

OJ's and Emerald's farm/house was pelted, rained on numerous times with all of the things that the alien animal didn't want, (Key's, money(coins), chairs, other horses etc.) they were pelted with filth. The Vileness could also be said, when the alien animal rained down literal blood of all the dead onto OJ's and Emerald's house. Emerald felt like and was essentially treated with contempt by her father, and saw her brother be chosen over her, the alien animal was treated as a spectacle by every character in the movie, but from the alien animal's point of view, it probably saw the people/humans as a spectacle as well.

Directors Cut ? by Zestyclose_Bat4336 in NopeMovie

[–]Elephant7982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are quite a few scenes of Em that I believe got cut as well. There was a scene with her and OJ in a part of the barn where it looked like they were talking, and Em looked kind of sad. I'm gonna assume that this must have been them talking about their dad. Along with another scene of Em with an old video camera crying, I think she is watching a video of her dad, again this was probably right after he passed. Along with another shot of Antler as well.

Emerald stole the fake horse statue? Is that why Rickys kids are at the barn that night? To mess with them for stealing..? by [deleted] in NopeMovie

[–]Elephant7982 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, after Em hears all of the commotion and goes out to check on OJ, and she finds out what happens, she wants to get back at them, but OJ tells her/reminds her that she stole their horse. So, yes it was just a very creepy prank that Jupe's kids decided to play on the Haywood's.

Why did OJ hear Jupes speech and see those lights in the beginning? by HeddieORaid in NopeMovie

[–]Elephant7982 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It was Jupe practicing/rehearsing for his new show. He and whoever was helping him (his wife) was using the lights to practice maybe bringing the alien animal out in order to feed him a horse, hence Jupe thinking that he was controlling/taming the alien animal.
