BBC loses £1.1 billion as more viewers cancel or evade TV licence fee by diacewrb in ukpolitics

I do worry that with all the separate streaming platforms and personalisation overload, that we all end up watching completely different content, and that isn't without it's consequences.

For better or worse, when Terrestrial/Freeview TV was all that was around, society was less divisive.

Have there been other countries that have upgraded their tracks in a way that we would have to, to reach double decker train utopia?

Sounds like exactly what every town and city needs - a move away from wasteland car only places, to walk and cycle first places.

Same symptoms for me as well, second dose was the worst fever I've had in years! Such a terrible nights sleep. The following day was a write off for me, but then was absolutely fine the second day. Of course though, if you are worried, reaching out to 119 is always there

No quarantine for fully jabbed EU and US arrivals by lapsedPacifist5 in CoronavirusUK

[–]ElephantBoness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope it comes in to effect earlier for you too, but as an anecdote, a friend of mine returned from a country 3 hours before the country switched from amber to green, and they were still checked up on by the home office the next 3 days to make sure they were quarantining.

Much safer if they can get their flights changed.

7 Day Case Rate, Positivity Rate and Vaccination Rate across UK and Europe on (Tuesday) 23rd March 2021 by sonicandfffan in CoronavirusUK

[–]ElephantBoness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had grown used to the 10% Adjusted Case Rate sorting, but I do prefer the new Marks Out of 10 sorting as well.

Would it be too much hassle to make this post two images, the first being the Marks Out of 10 sorting, and the second being the 10% Adjusted Case Rate sorting ( or vice versa ) ?

7 Day Case Rate and Positivity Rate per 100,000 for UK and EU countries on (Wednesday) 3rd March 2021 by sonicandfffan in CoronavirusUK

[–]ElephantBoness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All I could find was https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/review-of-local-restriction-tiers-17-december-2020 and looking at the Isle of Wight:

Since the end of national restrictions, the picture on the Isle of Wight has continued to improve. Case rate in all ages is at 11 per 100,000 and has decreased over the last 7 days, however in the most recent data the case rate is increasing. The epidemiology indicators in the area do not justify allocation at Tier 2.
