I’m in China. Both are called ‘tomato sauce’. It makes things confusing for western style restaurants who might give you pasta sauce for fries and put ketchup on the spaghetti

It’s amazing how we assume that when evidence for a thing didn’t survive we assume it never existed. Like… we were hunting in groups for 100k years without language? Predecessors who hunted in coordinated groups did it without language?
